Thank you very much for this tutorial, I've been waiting for it! I do think it's a bit of an advanced tutorial, beginners may have trouble following along with so many layers and fine details; hard to tell which details are on which layer, different effects being used, etc. It's quite hard to follow along because of how detailed the technique is. But I still enjoy seeing your process!

야매 한국어 번역 [0:12] 1. 그림자를 잡기 위해 곱하기 레이어를 추가하고 채도 낮은 색으로 덮는다. 지우개를 사용하여 밝은 영역을 지워준다. 2. 머리카락의 떨어지는 그림자같은 디테일을 찾아준다. [0:54] 3. 그림자 영역을 잡고 나면 어두운 색을 조절해주어야 한다. 밑색으로 돌아가서 영역을 선택하고 곱하기 레이어에서 색상과 채도를 조절한다. 머리카락은 주황계열로 바꿔주고 얼굴 그림자는 더 투명하게 만들어줬다. [1:22] 4. 곱하기 레이어에서 텍스쳐 브러쉬를 사용하여 밝은 주황색을 그림자 가장자리에 칠해준다. 하늘에서 비치는 밝은 하늘색을 그림자 여기저기 칠해주고 옷에는 진한 붉은 색을 칠해준다. 5. 전체적인 색감을 조절하기 위해 오버레이 레이어를 추가한다. 얼굴 주변에는 베이지색, 머리의 밝은 영역에는 밝은 톤의 색을 칠해준다. I'm never quite sure and sometimes I feel like it's too small and makes the drawing look bad, I end up adjusting it several times. People have told me that maybe it's the DPI but I have it at 350 so I don't know what's wrong, maybe it's just my perception of size lol

i think as long as the shortest side of the canvas is like bigger than 1000 pixels it should be okay, ur dpi is good too

I wonder, how do you adjust the layers for each flat separately? do we just have to add our flats without making it bleed into other parts so we can select again later? or is there a trick to select only the hair/skin/clothes area with the magic wand? This is actually the one thing that stops me from using this blend mode method, and I end up just coloring via alpha lock or clipping mask on each flat

This artist normally merges layers, after putting down color and shadow with diff blending modes. If u look at her layers, she's only editing one layer and merging that down to the original when she's satisfied. It's advanced and u need to have a strong understanding of painting and form.

From what I see, in the beginning each parts are drawn separately, then put in a folder. Then the blend mode was clipping the folder. Is this what you meant? Because currently there are no such advanced magic wand that could automatically select each parts without you separating it yourself.

@@zakiranurainithat's what I do too Grey layer to fill the silhoutte -> rough color of each flat in their own layer -> inside a folder that clips to grey layer to prevent bleeding Then what I do is clip a multiply layer with reddish grey, then layer mask and erase areas for lighting. The problem is the next step which is color correction. Look at 0:55 and listen to this step. They do color correction by selecting areas such as skin and tuning the color to be more red, or the hair to be more orange. When I myself to try to select my skin layer, it selects everything in that layer, including the parts that bleed out too. Im wondering if there's a magic wand tool that allows me to just select skin color that's visible, or hair color that's visible I remember seeing a rinotuna stream vod where they merged their flat colors into one layer and yet theyre able to select specific parts for color correction... but idk how they do that /: 😔 Unless there's really no other way to it besides meticulously and carefully coloring my flats perfectly so that it doesnt bleed out of its respective areas... again this is why Im asking if there's a way out from doing this

@neeevirus hmm i think i understand ur concern. From what I've used in csp, once layers are merged you can freehand select parts with lasso tool. If you have something blocked off in one color you can use select color gamut, and use that selection on ur rendering color layer. There's also masks in order to clean up any bleeding over parts. I'm sure there's more work arounds cuz with these programs there's always something that makes ur workflow enjoyable and easier. There may or may not be something in the assets store in csp?
