It depends on how much you want to stay there yourself, but the money allows you to settle down as in get rent and food while you are looking for a job and stuff like that, the rest just come by as you get a job, make a family or not, meet new people, so it really depends on what you want to do

Actually if that is a pretty comfortable amount to just do nothing for a lil while I most likely I would suggest doing your absolute best to apply for a job after the first 3-4 months of so to stay comfortable reguardless where your living

Are you a Japanese national? If you aren't, you actually need some kind of visa or permanent resident status to stay in Japan long term. I know your comment was 9 months ago but please don't try doing that, that is a terrible plan.

@@rum4906 Yeah, I think it's because a lot of people THINK about moving to Japan, but don't actually look into the logistics, and make posts solely based on their thoughts. The longest most people can legally stay in Japan without a visa is 90 days and they are not permitted to engage in income-earning activities. If you want to stay and work in Japan long term you need a certificate of eligibility before you can even apply for a visa and that alone can take 1-3 months. The only exception that I can think of, which people might not be explicitly mentioning is the "working holiday visa" - which allows foreigners to stay and find employment in Japan for a maximum period of 1 year. I've heard stories of people coming to Japan on a working holiday visa, finding employment, and then subsequently getting their employer to sponsor them for a regular work visa and switching over to that but that is definitely not as simple as "just up and moving" to Japan.

I am curious about this as well, I've seen a couple videos but haven't seen one where she discusses any language barriers as being an issue which makes me think she may be fluent in Japanese. Most Vloggers in Japan make at least one (if not multiple) videos on the difficulty the language barrier poses in Japan if you do not speak the language well.

I am pretty late since your comment is already 1 year ago BUT if you're still looking, search for "Go go Nihon" if you're planning to learn japanese while in japan, they're for you. they will help you guide the whole process for applying for language school, visa, documentation and other stuff and you can stay up to 1-2 years on student visa!

@@tanujpandit7952 i’ve heard usually teaching jobs prefer foreigners to not know japanese, although my japanese is N4 level, not proficient, but enough to get around as i’ve visited japan before. but i was asking this question because i’ve also heard you can’t get a japanese visa without a 4 year degree, that’s where my question came from.

Having a degree made job hunting a MUCH easier process for me! But there are definitely opportunities that don’t require it, they are just harder to find. Also when I was looking for work I noticed a lot of jobs listings stated that they prefer if you already resign in Japan. I mostly found work through GaijinPot Jobs if you’re interested :))
