Thank you Greg. In the last 6 months i have lost my dad, my aunt and my brother. I deal very similar to some of the ways that you touched on here. Life is is tough, but death is toughest on the living. Id definitely appreciate your prayers because you're in mine. God bless you my friend.

Greg - I'm sorry for your loss, I hope your memories of Stanley bring you happiness and help you get through it. My middle brother had a cat that had become quite close to me but he didn't tell me he had to put her down and his wife didn't want to go to the vet. So he brought her and sat in his car and cried when it was done. Our youngest brother had a dog that was part of the extended family (she attended every family event no matter where it was, and was never alone when they went on vacation) for almost 16 years. When it was apparent she was in misery he made the appointment and then invited everyone over to say goodbye. Our middle brother and I had to wait until his wife and kids were in bed so they wouldn't see us cry. I guess it just runs in our family but we don't want women or kids to see us cry. Especially the ones that rely on us. It's just what we do, whether it's right or wrong, I couldn't tell you. I also like to reflect internally but I make sure to say that I need some time to myself to think about a person before I can talk openly. Again condolences for your loss and thank you for sharing your coping mechanisms. I hope making the video also helped.

Hey Greg, sorry to hear. I have lost cats and it’s agonizing because we get so attached. I try to remember all the joy they provided our family and it helps. Everyone grieves in different ways. Stay strong.

Firstly, very sorry for your loss. It seems like the older I get the more emotional I get when losing family, friends and pets. I do agree that a man should be strong for his spouse or kids, that's just what we do, but yes I think it's absolutely healthy to get by yourself and let it out. I'm really sorry for your loss. I have grown up loving and caring for cats and dogs and I can totally relate to the sadness you are feeling. All I'd say is that with time it'll hurt less. This too shall pass!

Sorry for your loss Greg! I lost my little lady (my cat, Deena) on New Year’s Eve 2022. Had to put her down. Totally crushed and I hope things improve for you. I do not have any other animals yet.

Thank you! It’ll probably be a long time before I replace passing pets. My wife, however, might be a different story. She loves to bring new ones in and it drives me nuts.

@@GregBoswell428 yeah, people keep telling me I need a new one. Not that easy. She was my special little lady. So many memories; from the day I adopted her. That sweet little face staring through the cage at me in the APL. 😢 I knew she was mine. She lived to be 19, never had a vet visit until that dreadful day. I’m glad to be able to relate to your situation. I don’t like to talk about it in person. My mind plays like a revolving door of that event still to this day. Like there was something else I could’ve done. 🤷🏻‍♂️🙇🏻‍♂️ 19 is long for pets. And like you said about your other cat showing signs of fading out for nearly a year. That’s what I saw in her but was in total denial. Kept telling myself she was looking good and lively.
