No worries! My crown and front were the same. 1st cut off the rest of the relaxer. Then do the clay every two weeks until you reach your maximum hydration then repeat monthly. The problem you're experiencing is due to having low porosity hair in patches. The goal is to eliminate that issue throughout your entire head. Once you have reached your maximum hydration, your hair will be clumping starting at the roots. Don't be afraid to put the clay on your scalp once your hair is drenched in water....it will wash out no problem. Also instead of leaving it on for only 30 mins. leave it for 1 hour. Method works best if you do a apple cider vinegar DC for 15 minutes, rinse and apply the clay. Clay can be mixed in milk instead of water for better and quicker results. My hair has never looked so beautiful now that I've achieved MH and lets not talk about my Wash'N go's. Good luck and thanks for sharing.

+HairDeLaCreme or you may just be multitextured... :) I have 3 type wiry front and top and 4 type spongy sides and back. Your whole head doesn't have to have one pattern. I wash my hair daily, so my hair is always hydrated, this is just my normal hair, in fact, when I was relaxed, my top always got straighter quicker, and my sides were always harder to straighten. I use the Dickey method for my wngs. My sides and back usually need more product to define than my front and top. I'm loving the Eden Bodyworks natural curling jelly right now for all my textures. good luck! :)

J Craig is it ok to use this clay mask if you henna your hair on a monthly basis? I have been using henna for the last 2 yrs on my natural hair and I feel like it did loosen my curl pattern which I'm ok with. I would like to continue my monthly henna treatments and add a monthly betonite treatment in between. I don't know, what do you think?

Hey hair twin: I used to use bentonite clay and ACV but I found it very drying to my hair. So I started using rhassoul clay instead and my hair is so soft. Sometimes it just blows my mind how soft my kinks are. But I'm glad it worked for you.☺️
@RejoycefulEducator
@RejoycefulEducator 8 жыл бұрын
Yea rhassoul is less basic than the bentonite (is like a ph of 12-14) so the acv counteracts that better def agree With preference. Or I prefer premixed products like terresentials that have already balanced the ph properly for hair.

@xoAmaryllisxo
@xoAmaryllisxo 8 жыл бұрын
It might be an elasticity issue with the top front of your hair. Try either the Ouidad melt down curl recovery deep conditioner or the Aphogee Curlific texture treatment for a while and see if you see an improvement. If not it could just be that that section grows different from the rest of your hair. It's not uncommon.

I worry about definition and flaking a lot. lol. If the eco styler is not working for you, try a more natural gel like a flaxseed or Irish moss gel. My first one was flaxseed, irish moss and marshmallow root with hibiscus and qinoa seeds in it. My hair loved it to death.

My type 4 hair is the same way at the front. Deep conditioners always do an amazing job of defining my curls but once it's washed out, DRY AND FRIZZ EVERYWHERE. And same at not perfecting wash and goes. I don't use gel on my wet hair cause it makes it so hard and dry. I've been natural for 3 years and still haven't completely gotten the hang of it but it's a process and I'm happy I can wear my own hair proudly. Good luck!

Your hair might have the same issue I had with my hair. When you were relaxing your hair you were better able to work the relaxer into your hair. Then while going through your transition you may have pulled your hair back to wear a pony tail. I have yet yo cut my hair. I want to use the mask a couple of times, to see if I can get some curl definition. If that doesn't work I will cut it until i reach natural definition.

For some reason the front of my hair does the same. I’ve trimmed it after I big chopped but it still is loose. The sides of my hair is 4a and back is 3c but the front is just wavy and hardly curly and I’m trying to define it because it has a bit of bounce but it doesn’t shrink and it grew bigger than the sides ( not longer but somehow bigger) when I did my big chop so if anyone knows how to define without chopping (I’ll trim again anyway) but if anyone knows another way to define it’d be very helpful.

I'm new to this and noticed that eco gel do not work in my hair at all. I recently had a quick weave for about 2 weeks and after taking it out and washing my curls are completely gone 😭sitting here now with conditioner and black castor oil praying😇they come back by the morning.

Your my hair twin and my bangs look just like that, they're wavy and then straight at the ends so I cut the straight pieces off. Unfortunately there's nothing that I've found that makes them curl up. Maybe focus on them a lil more and see if they act right lol

Oh I forgot about this but it might be damaged hair follicles as well from perming your hair in the past that the hair grows wavy. I think it's the same for me

you might have two types of hair textures in your head. like the front is a 4b and the back is a 4c. I had a client who has two types of hair textures. it's still a gorgeous texture

Ikr? also I see that you used the Aztec betonite clay with calcium.. have you ever tried the bentonite clay with sodium to see how that works? I'm kind of torn between the two.

The clay is also to detox/deep cleanse the scalp.The only way to detox is to go to the roots/hair shaft,which is the scalp.Did you just do this for curl definition.Your have beautiful clear skin.

maybe try making the clay a bit looser when you reach the top of your hair. or maybe do a protein treatment to the front.. or maybe it just the texture of your hair... very very loose wave. embrace it boo. you prob gotta just twist it to make it mimic the back. it's cute
