How I Did My Makeup In High School | BubzBeauty

So this tag/challenge has been going around lately. A lot of you have been requesting me to do my take. I wish I did my makeup nicely in High School. I wish I knew less is more. But all is good. We all had a past X'D
You know how people say "Oh I would do anything to be 16 all over again?" NOT ME!!! Oh man... I literally did ALL the things you weren't supposed to do. I thought I looked so hot too.
So... Back then in high school, I thought wearing makeup meant you were cool. I thought the more makeup you wore, the cooler you are. In my case, I made sure to make my makeup super obvious. Natural makeup? You might as well not wear any, thought!!!!
The scary thing about this video is, I was being very forgiving while I was applying the makeup. Oh it felt amazing to be 16 again.
Tim did not fall in love with me all over again.
In my defense, neither did I after delivering the toilet roll for him.
If you had perfect makeup when you were 16, pssssh *rolls eyes*. No really, I'm actually amazed. No wonder I don't have much photos of me as a teen. I literally ripped them all which I really regret now. The only thing missing in my "high school makeup" was crap loads of glitter.

The only makeup I had when I was 13 was a shimmery white eyeshadow... which I used as concealer!!! I was walking around with shimmery pimples 😩😭

Ohmyworddddd, this is SO recognisable, did the same with the foundation, completely the wrong colour. Frizzy hair, loads of lipgloss that was way too bright for me and only eyeliner on the bottom part of my eyes .... let's not talk about 'fashion'

I remember the belly-shirt obsession! I would purposely look for shirts that would be JUST long enough to cover, but "flash" my midsection. I wanted to be Britney Spears lol! All my jeans had to be bellbottoms. Now, I like long shirts and tight leggings/skinny jeans!

bubzbeauty hahaha especially colour combos 😂! I wore these very low and tight-around-the-hip jeans and that became wider on the bottom and had this bright green + bright pink off the shoulder top with it. Don't forget the bright coloured trainers 😳

I didn't wear much make up until I was already out of school. But I used to wear a pink lipbalm with a pearl effect (bebe young care pearl lipstick) and applied so many layers of it that my lips were really pearly pink. Sorta like yours in the video, but even more silvery pearly. I also had a white pearly lipstick which was equally abused. xD Also, later I found a gold shimmer lipstick ... you can guess the rest.

My make up was really cakey but I rarely wore it. I remember when I first discovered eyeliner. Didn't go crazy with it because I liked a more natural look.. but I didn't know how to take it off so I'd look like a zombie the next day.. xD

The way girls do their makeup today will soon be embarrassing someday, too. The over contouring, the ridiculous brows, the overdone eyes... it's all so horrible.

yourbffjenn contouring is not over contouring if it's done correctly, brows are not ridiculous if they're done correctly and eye make up is not too much if blended seamlessly. It's called skill. When most of us did make up back in the day we didn't have all that, nowadays with KZfaq and practice you can look super good

I'm currently in high school and watching this makes me grateful that my biggest makeup mistake was drawing my eyeliner too thick and not blending foundation into my neck. Hard to believe I was doing that just last year, thank goodness I found your channel (and countless others) before it was too late!

Back in the day when black eyeshadow was everything and eyeliner pencil ur best friend. I didnt even like foundation back then so I used powder 2 shades lighter than my skin tone as a "foundation". Bloody hell haha

Riachanai lining the water line with black eye liner was a very big thing in the 2000s. I'm not sure why but everyone did it. Even more so the eyeliners that would smudge hours later and give you racoon eyes.

Riachanai a lot of people also did that when they were just starting with makeup because it's easier than putting eyeliner on the top lid :)

I love this looks so much! It reminds me of the past when nearly all the makeup books teaching "paint eyeshadows on the whole eyelids ". The lovely good old days... The most silly thing I did for makeup in the past is: same layering eyeshadow on both eyes (which normally should be mirrored). For example, left eye: gold for outside and green for inside, while right eye: gold for inside and green for outside.

I didn't really wear makeup in my teens. I remember tearing up if an eyeliner ever came near my eyes. Much later I decided I wanted to try and would youtube how to do it. Bubz was definitely one of the first people I subscribed to and I have learned so much over the years. Thanks Bubz!

I started doing my make up when I was 3 months till 15 years old. I'm now 16. I apparently do make up really well. But when I first started I wasn't too good with eye liner. It would always get in my eyes. My biggest mistake was accidentally using too much foundation! Now I'm super careful with my makeup. I was born at the right time. KZfaq exists to assist me 🙏

I used to make the ends of my eyebrows thin straight lines... and I drew those lines in with BLACK EYELINER.... I still have pictures of it, it's terrible.

My fav look was using black liquid liner (not matte) and using it ALL over my lid.. so you couldn't see my eyelid.. major raccoon eyes. Also caked on neutrogena acne foundation. LOVE!

Glitter...the shimmer would have been better but all I had was glitter lol. Glitter on my eyelids, on my lashes, and yes even body glitter. I swear I looked like a walking crystal ball XD

I just wish you could show us a picture of you from back then xD But my biggest makeup mistake was using a foundation in a color that was too dark for my skin and I did my eyeliner way too high up so I had a gap between the eyeliner and my lashline where there was no makeup at all. also when the day was over all my eyeshadow was turned into a line on my eye.

Eyeshadow up to my eyebrows, sooo much black eyeliner on my lower lashline I wanted that panda look. And 10 layers of foundation which was 3 shades darker than my skin tone! Flawless! So. Many. Memories flooding back watching you Bubz! Glad I wasn't the only one!!! Xox

ahhh the good, old yet embarrassing memories!!! My earliest memory of makeup is wearing black eyeliner and tight lining top and lower eyelashes. Then it started with tinted moisturizer, then gradually foundation. I never filled my eyebrows, only until recently

I'm always too heavy handed with all the products. That didn't happen often. Dad hated me wearing paint as he called it. I could only polish my nails with clear or light tinted pink until I graduated high school. I would use my mom Chanel makeup and try to sneak out of the house but I used so much I would often look like a clown and people laughed and picked at me. I had no idea what I was doing. Mom got me a subscription to Seventeen magazine so i could learn but dad was so against me wear makeup that we gave up that battle. I don't wear it that much now, mascar, eyeliner and lipgloss thats it. So I gave up makeup. Your pallet +Bubzbeauty is the very first pallet I've ever owned, no fooling the very first one. I ordered it the other day and I can't wait to play with it. I don't think I'm as heavy handed as I used to be so I shouldn't look like a clown anymore LOL

Lol yes! I was in middle school when you were in hs, so I didn't wear makeup, lol just a lot of glitter on my cheeks haha. But! I remember everyone else having this look at that time! It was all Britney and Christina's fault 😂 lol. Awe the memories, this was "the go to look"! So you were basically on fleek then 😁

My mum did that and she tells me she doesn't like it but that it was popular back when she was in high school. Now her brows stay thin and warns me not to pluck them 😂

I didn't start wearing makeup until I was 15 and my idea of makeup was black eyeliner only on the bottom lash line, mascara, natural eyeshadow that came with the little eye applicator thing (what were brushes?)and showed you how to put it on (I thought that was the only way to put on eyeshadow), and lip gloss. had no idea what foundation, concealer, bronzer, or primer was. the only coverage I used was powder and even then I didn't know what it was for lol I'm still learning makeup cuz now there's this new thing called contouring (still new to me)and I still don't do anything to my eyebrows cuz I never thought to do anything with them. but I've grown so much since then and it's all because of your videos bubz! I have learned a lot from your videos.

I remember the frosted look! I never named it that but now that you say it I remember seeing so many celebrities in music videos with that look. Even music videos I've watched from the '00s in different countries (Korea, Japan) sometimes have the frosted look. (see Ayumi Hamasaki's Walking Proud for example) I also remember around 2000 when everyone started using futuristic themes in MVs and TV since everyone was acknowledging the new millennium.

I think my biggest beauty misstake back then was the superthin 90's eyebrows. Thank God they grew back again! I used to fill them in with a brown eyebrow pencil from H&M and smudge the lines with the brush on the cap so they looked really smudgy and dirty. Also I used tons of Kløver Vaseline on my lips to make them look glossy.

I would also just wear eyeliner on my lower lash line. Never on my upper lash line. When I discovered you could do that, my world changed forever. Lol. I also ONLY wore eyeliner and maybe mascara but nothing else. And I have oily skin so I just ended up looking so greasy and had eyeliner running because I didn't use eye primer either. Man... I'm glad KZfaq tutorials became a thing!

Still make eyeliner mistakes a lot...but back in high school I would play around with a black eyeliner pencil. Top lid, smudged out; or waterline, smudged out. Very occasionally both lids, but not always. I would have panda eyes by lunchtime. Also very rarely was some eyeshadow, but that was out of laziness. Other days it was some smacks of Coty loose powder since I liked the fragrance. I was 15-16...that was about the time I started watching Bubz and Michelle, but trying not to cave in to makeup bc I thought I could stay a tomboy forever. The first time I did a proper full makeup myself was my first prom. Nothing regrettable really, except for not embracing makeup more fully instead of being all shy about it. Now my favorite makeup item is lip color. :P

bubz, don't get embarrassed..! I am a mother and there are many mothers in my club who still wear make up, even more gaudy make up than you did in high school, now!!!! they still don't know how to blend, the pores on the nose and cheeks of some people can be seen from the moon

This reminds me of your very very early KZfaq tutorials from many years ago with all the colorful eyeshadow and the choppy fringy hair!!! I have been watching you for so many years now. You were so adorable. My mistake was bright (VERY BRIGHT) blue eyeliner. I was allowed to buy one "high end" makeup item and I chose a fluorescent shimmery blue/tealish color from Sephora and lined my entire water line with it. No eyeshadow to balance it out or anything. That thing was $38! Needless to say, I wore that look every day to school.

I used to only put foundation on, no concealer, no powder, no base like lotion or anything, just right on there. I used a dark purple eyeshadow for my eyeliner and maybelline great lash mascara. I didn't fill in my brows either. I had like the worst acne too bc i didn't know proper skin care and wow, so glad i got through those years

My mum still kind of does this stuff and it makes me cringe be use no matter how many times I say, you don't just use one eyeshadow colour or only line the lower water line or use orange foundation powder in one thick clumpy patch over your face. Yet she never listens she just says "ik how to do makeup I've been doing it a long time." YOU STILL THINK IT'S THE 80'S ACCORDING TO YOUR MAKEUP YOU SPOON

my most unforgivable look was heavy on black eyeliner, and not blending my eyeshadows. I would do on hard sweep of brown on my lower lid, then another hard sweep of blue on top of it. You could so clearly see the lines of where the brown started and the blue started. Mind you, I had some access to make up tutorials back then because I remember youtube coming out before high school. I just was still trying to get the hang of using makeup.
