Very helpful! But I have a couple questions. Do you do this research during the summer or during the school year? And if you do manage to get into a research group, do you have to go to the sight to work with them? Or is it like remote?

Thank you so much for the informative video! I've loved watching your content for a while now, but I am curious about what time of the year you started to send out these emails. Is it too late to start submitting them in the winter/early spring? Thank you!

Hi Elizabeth, I have done research in Machine learning and dental sciences in the past but I am trying to break into the field of computational sociology. Do you have any resources for going into this field, and what are the expectations for doing research in this field?

During your research during the summer before junior year, as a rising junior, did you have any research experience beforehand? And what exactly did you do in the lab? Did you contribute to being like a first or second author of a research paper, or did you simply learn a lot from it?

Super cool video!!! But what about remote/virtual opportunities and how do you find those? And how do you find professors who work virtually?

Hi Elizabeth, thank you for the incredibly informative video! I'm very interested in your non-profit organization, and I was wondering if you could go into detail about that?

Hi Elizabeth. I am a student from China who is moving to a private American high school and I want to say your content helped me out big time. I do have a question. I suppose before cold-emailing a professor I would need to gain a decent amount of knowledge on their research otherwise they probably won't see me as good enough. The thing is, I would e-mail many professors since not many of them are going to accept me. Won't it be a bit overwhelming if I read all of their research? Are there any ways to gain knowledge on their research more efficiently?

Hi Im not very qualified to answer bc I am just starting this process myself, but if you are under the faculty tab of a university program Website and you click on the professor's name or link to their website which is usually right near their name, it lists their current and past research in a few paragraphs.

Do I need to have extensive knowledge on whatever topic it is? Like lets say the research is about pharmaceuticals and I am interested in biochemistry, do I need to understand the complex topics that will be researched or should I just work on my actual lab skills such as pipetting?

From what I've seen, professors don't expect high schoolers to have the same skills as undergraduates. So no, you probably won't need to understand the intricacies! They will teach you everything you need to know.

For summer research internships, around what time/month did you send the emails?
