You are absolutely right patience is a virtue. I have a Boston fern growing outdoors in a planter and each year fall I drag it indoors cool basement under fluorescent lights. Water it through winter and looks a little sad by the time spring rolls around and out it goes back in planter. Each year it is more massive. Yours is a success. 💚🇨🇦

Your videos are all very informative, experimental, and the results can be seen. I have heard so many say that plants inTerracotta pots need more watering. May I suggest to You and the Other Tubers, that I assume before using the pots they’re not prepared for repotting? That means taking the pot and placing it in a bucket of water fully submerged. When doing that You will see air bubbles coming from the pot . This shows the amount of air still in the Terracotta pot. By submerging it in water, the water is soaked into the pores of the Clay. When the pot was burnt the moisturizer in the clay left tiny air pocket that boiled and popped when drying out. Those air pockets are where the water goes when watering it, resulting in the Pot being watered and not the Plant. When the air bubbles stop coming from the pot, THEN Your pot can be used for repotting. And the result will be a plant that doesn’t need any more watering as one in a plastic pot. Because the pores in the clay are waterlogged. Just a suggestion. I used plastic pots only for the convenience of price and weight. But I use Clay pots in My larger Yucca and Ficus which I don’t have to constantly lift. So next time You buy or use a Clay pot, try My tried and true suggestion and enjoy the beauty of Nature. Great job with the Fern. ✌🏿

It looks so pretty in that pot! You did a great job. Ferns like high humidity too. I am not drawn to ferns but after seeing this video and that beautiful variegation on that one I want one. I never saw one with variegation on it. Thanks for the video.

Yours looks so much better! I have one from my mom and three more little ones. One miniature and two I saved from the clearance rack. I’m learning watering is so key with these! Hoping to revive the ones I rescued from the clearance rack

Oh this is the first plant I ever strangled in a blind rage! God I did everything for that plant and it just wouldn't grow! Interestingly enough it survived the initial strangling and several other stranglings and to this day three years later it's still just barely clinging to life right at the back of my outdoor greenhouse.

To clarify, its not a new species of "Tiger Fern" discovered in the wild. Its a regular Boston fern bred to respond to the huge demand for variegated leaf form of everything. Renaming botanical plant names with cute animal or food names is another big trend. Botanical name is written Nephrolepis exaltata var. Tiger or just Boston Fern "Tiger". But retailers aren't going to write it that as it sounds intimidating. Simply writing Tiger Fern is more memorable and forms an instant emotional connection so they are easier to sell. But also more confusing as it sounds like a whole different new fern so people can be confused into paying alot more. The so called "Fluffy Ruffles" fern is the exact same situation. They charge 2x the price as original Boston Fern and sell it in smaller pots. These new cultivars are stimulating new interest in old plants. BUT they also pushing up prices and these plants are harder to care for. People pay more but they bring more disappointment as the tend to have shorter, less healthy lives. They give a new name (and higher price) to make you think its something totally different. I'm seeing this trend everywhere in plants - slightly different leaf form, new cute name to confuse, much higher price, quicker turnover as they die quicker.

1:57 Funny to see, how even planty content creators struggle with the pot issue. Honestly, my main hurdle at this entire indoor gardening story is my severe lack of fitting pots...

Are you a classical guitarist too? It sort of looks like you have short nails on the left and long on the right.. just like a classical guitarist.. if not you should give it a shot.. Fern looks great.. mine is yellow and I think it needs a bigger pot and some fresh dirt.. btw, aquarium water is great for sensitive indoor plants.. skip the distilled.. that actually sucks out the nutrients..

You should actually remove the”ugly”old leaves when it comes to ferns, damaged or drying out fronds sap energy rather than providing nourishment to your fern. Remove drying and dying fronds below the part of each frond that is doing poorly . All the best with you refurbished boston.

I have a difficult Boston fern. He's miserable! I'd started to revive him and get some overhang, then my toddler ripped most of the leaves off resulting in bald fronds. I was so upset I've barely watered the ugly plant and it's looking sad! I've had it 1yr and have such a love hate relationship with it. Every time I walk past it I threaten to give it way
