The Not Your Mothers Natural line is a great inexpensive brand for curly hair. They smell amazing and are really light weight.

I like the Tahitian gardenia flower & mango butter line. It's in a fuchsia colored bottle. It's for curly hair & the detangling spray from that line is amazing! It smells really great too.

I also LOVE their matcha green tea & wild apple blossom deep conditioning hair masque. It's in a green tub. It smells so good & works great on my hair. You can tell I really love this brand lol

Regarding brushing your hair..maybe try brushing it in the shower when you have conditioner in. That's what I have always done and it doesn't affect the curl pattern as much that way. PLUS the conditioner gives your hair nice slip for getting tangles out. Also Love, Beauty, Planet makes a hairspray that's like aerosol but it's air powered. I haven't tried it but its like $7 at walmart so maybe it's worth trying for you?

stacy kelly I do the same. I use a wide-tooth comb and comb my hair out when it has conditioner in it, that way when I rinse I don’t have to comb/brush the definition out of my curls.

I do this as well. I leave the conditioner in while I wash, shave, etc. and then comb out while conditioner is in it!

I have curly/wavy hair and I have tried I kid you not every shampoo and conditioner on the market so here are my suggestions (these are all sulfate and silicone free if that matters to you) Briogeo matcha and apple (these are not drugstore, but awesome) Raw sugar (found at target) Literally all of the not your mothers naturals line, they are all amazing. My favorites are the pink and blue bottles, and if you’re a blonde the blonde moment shampoo and conditioner are awesome and non drying Pacifica pineapple curls (shampoo is super gentle which is nice, and conditioner is pretty light, perfect for wavy hair) Tressemmee botanique conditioner, it is silicone free Giovanni 2chic, you can usually find the big bottles at tj max for like 10 bucks each, no one really talks about those Desert essence coconut conditioner (shampoo isn’t bad, a little too drying for me) Hope this helps someone!

Jessica to decrease frizz and to give your hair volume use a T-shirt when scrunching 👍🏻 I guarantee you will see a difference! Also try sleeping on a satin or silk pillow case. That will help keep frizz away. 💜💋

I love the all about curls! U can get it at cvs and I think Walmart too. I tried diva curl hair products and didn’t care for them honestly. I never tried the shampoo or conditioner tho

I get a lot of my products at black owned beauty supply stores. My local one has the sweetest women working there and they are extremely knowledgeable about hair care and the prices are sO much cheaper than anywhere!

For the summer, try using a gel as it helps in the humidity. My favourite is the Dippity Do Girls with Curls Gelee! And if you want lots of volume, only use mousse on your roots and gel on the rest.

I have frizzy, curly hair too. I put in just a little bit of Moroccan oil last and it helps keep my curls shiny and smooth.

My favorite product for curls is... Gel, gel, gel!👌 “Are you gel’n?” 😜Definition & Hold 👍 Never have to use hair spray again. ➡️(DevaCurl B’leave-in gel, Briogeo gel, Not your mothers purple tube gel, Curls brand blueberry bliss jelly)⬅️ I like using each one on its own or sometimes mixing a cocktail of 2 of them together. You could even mix a little bit of all of them together. They all contain more natural options & healthy ingredients as well. You can also mix a tad of hair oil to the gel cocktail or add it as a last step to mostly the ends of your hair. Always leaves soft & bouncy luscious curls without crunch! I then blow dry by diffusing with the dryer on the lowest setting & low heat.

I love to see how other people do their hair!! I am going to try hairspray before blow drying. My husband surprised me with the dyson hair dryer last Black Friday and I told him to return it because my $40 hair dryer was awesome. He said he would if I tried it and didn’t like it. Holy cow my hair has way more volume than I knew it could and I cut my drying time down. Use to take 45 min to an hour and now I’m around 5-10 depending on how wet it is when I start. It’s crazy how a hair dryer can make such a difference in how your hair looks.

Maui moisture lightweight hydration, the one in the hot pink bottles, is the only shampoo and conditioner that doesn’t weigh my hair down, yet still provides enough moisture. I use the scalp revival once per week. I still have to shampoo every other day in the summer, too.

The shea moisture coconut & hibiscus curl + shine shampoo/ conditioner is so good for wavy hair it doesn’t weigh my hair down but the conditioner is hydrating at the same time.

Listen up, hair twin, get yourself some gel. Gel does the same thing as hairspray and you can scrunch out the crunchy feel sans aerosol. (or keep searching. You're still great) 🧡💛🧡

I have been perfecting my “curly” hair routine and I have some products I think you should try! -The Acure moisture shampoo and conditioner (not for curly hair, but it’s helped my waves a lot! $10 each at target/meijer) -Not Your Mother’s curl defining creme ($8 at target/meijer) -Salon Graphix texture spray (this isn’t technically a hairspray, but I love the hold, and so I thought I would suggest it! $13 at meijer) I hope this gives you some ideas! 😊

I have VERY curly hair. I use the exact same leave in conditioner (Shea moisture) and mouse as well. That’s all I do. I don’t use the hairspray nor blow dry. Your hair is gorgeous! 👍🏻

I squeeze my hair out & wrap it in a t-shirt. It really minimizes frizz and breakage, because towels disrupt the hair shaft.

Suave coconut shampoo and conditioner are great to use and cheap. I also use la styles gel the blue one. I use my fingers to brush my hair when conditioner is on in the shower, then dry with tshirt, then finger comb my hair again before gel. And I let air dry. I wash my hair daily

You're funny ... You basically ARE doing the CG method! (From one CG to another!) 😉👍🏻 (P.S. Try Bioterra gel ... cheaper and holds your curls in form (a cast) until dry and tgen scrunch out the crunch! Works better than what you're doing and less work and products ... and I've tried everything you're doing, extensively!) Watch Curly Susi ... so my hair is almost identical to yours, the texture of it and everything. i always HATED my hair as a kid, straightened it everday until i was a junior in high school. i'm a college sophomore now and i've learned to accept my hair, and i love it!! it's kinda high maintenance, most of my friends have straight hair and don't need to use an excessive amount of products. but my hair is the number one thing i get complimented on, so if anyone out there hates their curly hair, don't, cause people would kill to have it!!! love you jess 💛💛

My 3 year old has curly hair and I’m very intentional at telling her how special it is and beautiful it is. I also have a 5 year old with slightly wavy very long hair. For her curly hair I spray It’s a Ten and scrunch...perfect every time.

My new FAVE hairspray is actually more expensive than the one you use, but it is organic, non-aerosol, and silicone free (which is a MUST for my curls)... it is the innersense I Create Finish hair spray. SO GOOD!

Innersense is the best! It's definitely not drug store price but I don't think it's too expensive for such a good product.

I love the shampoo and conditioner and the leave in. I’m not going to lie I’m a high end hair product snob. I do have some drugstore that makes my hair just average. Some of the Shea moisture line is good.

I love the smoothie but it weighed down my mom's naturally wavy hair. I gave her the Hair Milk and she loved it. The Shea Moisture smoothie is my HG curly hair product though.

I love it too but hate the packaging. I always get shower water in it and it starts to stink when it's half empty.

@@susannahb2723 yes! I hate the pot too. I bought the travel size which is in a squeeze tube and have used a syringe (no tip, the kind for delivering oral medicine) and refilled the squeeze tube from the pot.

Her telling my hands "to mind their damn business" when diffusing and not to use my wet hair was a hugeeeeeeeee hair game changer for me. She is hands down the most educated channel I've found on curls and I have watched alot!

I also like that she tells you to use sulfates as you need because I personally have to use sulfates every like 6 to 8 wash day or my build up is insane.

Love your videos! I have a suggestion, I have been using the Bed Head on your recommendation and have enjoyed it. I recently ran out and used my old hairspray, and I noticed that my hair stays clean longer when I don't use the Bed Head, so now I am wondering if it adds "grit' to make your hair more like "bed head"? Same for me. Masterpiece is nice for special occasions, but it doesn't play nice for second day hair on me. I tried so hard to convince myself it was working out with my texture because she loves it so much lol.

I'm so lazy and I honestly just shampoo and condition my hair every couple days and let it air dry with no product and scrunching it. Then I sleep with a silky bonnet and that's it lol

I read that the Zotos Professional line sold at SallyBeauty.com is supposed to be a dupe for Devacurl but I haven't tried it yet. I'm also curious as to whether you have you tried flaxseed gel for your hair? It's an amazing & very inexpensive homemade gel that nourishes hair & gives incredible shine!

I love the tresemme flex hold hairspray and their curly mousse! Also the Maui heal and hydrate hair mask is great! I switch between that one and the Briogeo!
