I like that I was following along through this thinking "you can do all this and more with izotope RX"... then towards the end you give great arguments as to why you don't. Also love how this video demonstrates how maleable a simple field recording can be just with an EQ!

Thanks a lot for this informative video. I just discovered the Mid-Side Adjustments, and that all the sub-frequencies should be in mono, while letting all the stereo space for higher frequencies, and this Plugin, VUMT Deluxe from Klanghelm is just doing an amazing job !

Super useful video! In the process of transitioning to Reaper and I've been wondering if there was an "advanced automation" feature like PT Ultimate and this answered my question.

I suppose you sync to video in Reaper by clap or something like that? I wish there was a plural-eyes-type plugin for this stuff. Also my tip for field recordings: don't master anything, unless you have a project where this sound will be used and you know what it requires. Cut it roughly (if there are different sound elements), name it extensively, stick in a folder. When I started recording sounds I was very precious about them, made lots of edits, small samples etc. It was time consuming, boring, felt like a chore and I never even knew if the sounds will be used. Now, I just find the sound I want in the session and process it before putting it into a project. I don't care if there's a slate or a cable bump in the start of the source file.

This video is helpful also that mastering video. But....I use PC and as newbie in field recording and audio editing, I just keep hitting my head to wall... Is there any good DAW tutorial which isn't about music?

You just popped up and this is excellent. I’m quite new to field recording, for video mainly, using a mid-side rig. It’s very illuminating to see how other people work. This will seem like an off topic question (it is), but what cans are you using (they look like Sennys)? I need to invest in something good quality, preferably open backed. Thanks for any advice.
