I love the producers i inspired to be like and create my own sounds, music or beat shouting each other out with camaraderie it’s dope and heart warming. I hit rock bottom and I’m putting all my effort into find a new job and supporting my music journey I was stressed about finding a new job and things in my life that solely made me feel like if I didn’t have that one thing that gave me gratification I felt like shit. It’s never been producing. I feel like producing has helped me channel all my unhealthy thoughts into a positive thing. I’ve been looking for the missing links like putting my soul into my beats. I’ve always looked at beat making as an adopted child verses my own. Like yeah I get check from it but do I love it like my own child that came from me. I know that’s like a messed up way to think about it and you can love an adopted child as your own but I was lacking that connection to me. Once I was able to connect it open my eyes up to music I enjoy that I’m slowly finding my sound. I just need more fundamentals and practice with effects. Boom I’m there I can feel it on the tip of my tongue. Thanks for your insight it help me do a mental evaluation to see if music gave me those same vibes and what are my intentions are they “pure” but they may not be only to make great music and improve peoples days and moods. It’s a variety things but mainly freedom and doing things people probably would’ve looked at me and said I can’t believe you out of all people achieved your goals. I don’t like showing off or to brag I just want to leave a lasting legacy and create things that are just sonically beautiful thank you all for your help. It’s been a difficult journey but what journey worth while isn’t?

I failed at being an artist years ago (drummer, trombonist & computer man in bands) and I quit music for that reason. It was too much ! I was also very introverted. I switched to shit jobs ten years ago and quit music (as a full time activity) until a year ago after a bad, bad burnout : after a long & harsh revovery I'm ready to upload beats and hopefully becoming a full time music producer, thanks to all of you, the beatmaking gurus of KZfaq, so I owe you one !

I appreciate your vibe of improvement and learning. Respect for being real about your shortcomings, because we only learn when we face our flaws with honest eyes\ears. Also for people who idolize those who are ahead of them, it's important to remind them that nobody's born an expert. I think you're better suited as a teacher, sharing the journey of growing and improving at a craft of passion 👍 it'll give you an audience for your music sales etc in the long run, so keep at it with good useful tuts.

I appreciate everything you’ve done for us home producers Navie! You’ve released countless videos explaining things that have been big game changers in my production. I can relate to what you were talking about at the end of the video. I was making music to feel better about myself because I was a shitty person, with no relationships and not taking care of my mind and body. I learned many lessons the hard way last year and I had to take a really long break from making my music all together. I finally figured out what I needed to do in order tomake myself feel better and I’m glad I learned sooner rather than later. Thank you for this vid 🙏 💯

Amazing story and insight. I feel the mental health aspect of production and what goes into it more than just making great beats is an important conversation to have, which unfortunately isn't talked about nearly enough. I fear the introverted aspect as well. I don't like being glued to my phone having to watch for texts and emails and keep many different conversations going. I want to be able to chill and relax and do what I wish. I am a very talkative person when face to face with someone and never have issues with people, but reaching out to strangers to essentially give them a sales pitch of myself scares the hell outta me. Seems so damn stressful. But I guess time will tell if I like it or not. Can't just not try because it's new and scary. As terrible as anxiety issues can be, it's also a necessary part of life to help us grow and become better.
@NavieD

Absolutely. I like the idea of examining all of the factors that relate to production outside of just production. Hopefully this video helps some people start thinking about some of these ideas

@@NavieD Oh no doubt! That goes to almost anything in life. Especially stuff that you consider attempting to make a full time job out of such as producing. You have to analyze all aspects and mentally prepare and research so once you do get to the point of it making you a living, you don't have a mental break down or live life stressed even though you should be ecstatic that you're living your dream.

I really appreciated hearing this story. I wish more people with a platform would be honest and vulnerable like this. I too have often felt like an outsider. Still do! But I have grown to be proud of it. I find that I feel like an insider when I connect with other outsiders -- and that is kind of what I want to do with music. Connect with other outsiders, whether aspiring or established artists; music creators or music lovers. I want to encourage other outsiders that they are not alone and that being an outsider is actually a good thing! Without outsiders, we would not have creativity or growth! Thank you for this video. I just found your channel recently, and ever since, you have been my favorite personality on the platform for beats (and lifestyle things in general). My interest in beats grew about a year and a half ago, and I have never been all that consistent. Recently, I had a phase where I was putting all of my energy towards beats in order to learn and get better as efficiently as possible, but I ended up enjoying it much less and falling behind with other things in life. It’s been about two weeks since I had a routine for producing, but since then I picked up some weights for the first time in over a year and I’ve spent way more time being productive towards school and work. Despite the break, I know that I will enjoy music like I once did when I have the time to sit down again. Overall, the topics and tone of your videos just feel much more personal than many other channels, and I appreciate that. There’s no exaggerated energy or filler in your videos, it’s just you being real with your audience. Keep doing what you do!

I devoted 2years (covid outbreak) off to focusing on myself, mentally, emotionally and physically. As for introversion, yeah too many networking becomes stressful for me as well. I have notice that to. Thanks for sharing this video, your struggles, your story with us. Very inspiring and comforting to know we aren't going through challenges aline. Congrats on the 1kk subs 👏 🙌🏽

Seriously your channel it's insanely good. You're educating in a unique, fun, and easy way. Genuinely I think you are an amazing producer but if this is where you feel comfortable then that's fine, you're making your own story and that's what matters.

Out of all those videos you released, thank you for this one, this video. It's the story of my journey as a producer. Introvert, uncomfortable in my own skin, a bunch of bad collabs and experiences. All of that stuff made me go to the gym, get my life on the right path and produce music for myself only. I stopped worrying about make it as producer or not. At the end of the day, I like the music I make and couldn't care less if someone else disagrees. Kudos to you.

Wow!! I love your honesty! I'm not a beat maker and far, far away from being a music producer, but I see myself in your shoes. You're 100% right! At least from my point of view. Totally agree with you! I always thought I'm different, but after watching your video, I realized I'm normal!!! Big thanks for that!!! I really wish you great success in everything you intend to do!!!!

I can relate, I used to be an extrovert back in 2012 but when I lost my brother, I became an introvert but can still get out of my comfort zone if needed. It doesn't hold me back, what holds me back is making the same beats over and over instead of focusing on the new. Which I feel most artists themselves are scared to explore because they wanna sound like their "favorite" major artists. Plus you get used A LOT that's also something to mention, people tend to take advantage of you, especially when it comes up and coming producers/artists

This is so inspirational, thank you for your sincerity Navie D. I've only recently realised that I don't want to try and make a career out of guitar playing - I thought I did for many years because it was the only 'okay' thing in my life. I'm still struggling to figure out what career I want, but I can say I'm happy making music just for me now :)

I seriously cant believe it took this video for me to accept and release myself from that producer grind. I've already dissapeared from many connections ive made and am happy being more alone so that my creativity can flourish. I think that other comment was spot on, were more apt as solo artists. Thank you for the release and I hope you get huge karmic return for doing this for others. Cheers!

That was very very sincere to share. Thanks bro. I'm glad to hear your story and that you found better thing to do for your mental and spiritual health. I'm gonna rush for becoming a big producer, but I do have some same traits as you have but not exactly same, what differentiate us is making me feel disturbed by not doing something about it or to achieve my goals. There is an immense urge in me to do something big. So I'm gonna rush for that. But I feel for you at the same time and as I said, thanks for your honesty and sincerety. That's precious.

Man thanks a lot I needed to hear this, I relate a lot to you and I'm focusing on bettering my life I think I still want to produce for people I like and for fun but right now im more leaning towards mixing and mastering for people so I don't have to produce the things I don't like and I can earn some cash, and I'll focus on making my own songs cause that's what is really satisfying to me. I have plenty of other personal projects and just trying to make it as a producer has done almost nothing but making me feel bad because I haven't done anything else

Self-reflection is the most challenging avenue to navigate because we lean towards avoiding that hard truth like deep potholes. We have advice for everyone else, but when we have the same issue, we find ways to make it different instead of just excepting what we saw and trying to resolve it. Understanding the real you is a journey like no other, and more of us need to force ourselves to take that trip. Thanks for sharing Navie D.
