Great video, very informative! I have a 2008 TSX and my fluid is bone dry, and steering is very hard. I added a bottle of fluid and it made no difference. I am going to order the O ring and try replacing it but how much fluid do you need if it is empty? Thanks!
@firsttimersDIY3 жыл бұрын
Sorry for the delayed response but thanks for watching and commenting. I believe its somewhere around 36 fl oz but when you order your o-ring just ask the parts guy. But I can't imagine you would use more that 1- 12 fl oz bottle for topping off but I wouldn't know for sure. I hope that helps. Thanks again

Hello, hope to get a response. Can i please have part number it's not to clear on video. Thank you for sharing too. We found your video very helpful

Thanks for watching and commenting. I don't know the part number off the top of my head but if u call the Acura/Honda Service tell them the year of your vehicle and let them know you need an O ring for the power steering hose. Hope that helps. Let us know if you have any other questions. Thanks again!

Ok thanks for video. But in the future no need to switch the car on .. just unlock the steering.... turn 5 times (end to end) in both directions and you should be great.

Does this car increase the idle when the steering wheel is turned? My 06’ is doing this but I don’t know if I have a problem or it’s completely normal. Thanks!
@firsttimersDIY2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching and commenting. I didn't notice the changes in the RPM's just the sound increasing as the wheel turned. But my car is starting to make noises again so I will check the idle as well. Thanks again
@joemiller23662 ай бұрын
if your car is a manual, then its nothing to worry about. Manual ecu's have a program in them that makes the rpms jump a little when turning the wheel, so you don't stall in a sharp corner ect.

Thanks for the update. Sorry for the late reply. I'm starting to have the same problem as well. I will try to make a new video this next month. But any info you can share with your project will be greatly appreciated. Thanks again.

I replace the 2 rings replace pump and still have a wierd sound every time I steer also when I put the car on d sounds louder rack and pinion is not leaking I don't see any leaks any idea ?
@firsttimersDIY2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching and commenting. Sorry for the delayed response. I'm actually starting to hear that whine again and noticed some bubbles in reservoir myself. I thought I was done with this issue but looks like its back for me as well. Does the weird sound get louder as you turn the wheel? How about sound when parked? I will be sure to reply with any info for you and will make a new video for my issues soon. Feel free to share anything you discover and hopefully we all get this figured out. Thanks again for commenting.

I believe i figure out where the noise coming from every time i turn steering wheel noise comes from the power steering high pressure line i dont see any leaks but i believe the hose is bad or the switch that i think is built in the hose line i have to check if any one had this same issue
@firsttimersDIY2 жыл бұрын
@@newsflash5275 appreciate that info. I may have to try that soon. Noise is slowly creeping back.

Does the car need to be jacket up??
@firsttimersDIY Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching and commenting. Sorry For the delayed response. It's better to have the car jacked so u can turn the wheel easier. Thanks again

What do you do if those 10mm bolts do snap ?
@firsttimersDIY2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching and commenting. Sorry for the delayed response but just getting back from vacation. U can get the bolts replaced for a few bucks at any automotive shop. Just take in the snapped screw so they can match the bolt and thread size. Thanks again!

Yooo what about changing the power steering pressure switch i legit changed everything the pump res, pulley, belt, Oring, and the fat hose (pun intended 😂) nah but it keeps leaking underneath and it doesn’t even run out i just know im low when i hear the squeaky noise when I turn the wheel
@firsttimersDIY11 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching and commenting and always change the fat hose! Lmao. (That was nice😆) This was a popular video and seems to b a common issue for a lot of people. Once I changed everything and removed their by lifting the car and turning the wheel with resistor cap off it was finally resolved but it gave me months of headaches. Good luck. Let us know how it goes. Thanks again!!

It is hard to hear him over that music. Oye. Plus the video could have been a few minutes shorter if you remove all the stuff he repeats several times!

I just called my mechanic about this noise never thought about the power steering fluid mine is low 🤦🏾♂️’04 tsx
@firsttimersDIY3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching and commenting. Hopefully that does the trick, it's a pretty cheap and easy fix if it's just air or low fluid.

mine the noise came on after I replace with new steering hose, pump, and steering rack. Anybody know why?
@firsttimersDIY2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching and commenting. That happened to me when I first replaced the power steering pump. I re-replaced the old one which sounded better but then replaced the new one again a few days later. It was better the 2nd time but I don’t know why it did that. Please let us know if figure it out. Or hopefully we get a response with the answers we need. Thanks again.

@@firsttimersDIY Thanks for the reply. If jacked up the wheels and did a video call with my brother so he could tell me if I was getting bubbles from the power steering reservoir. I was. After a much longer turn turn turn session, the noise was still there but a lot quieter. Thanks for your help!
@firsttimersDIY3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the feedback. Glad we could help. If the noise starts coming back slowly I would check/replace the O Rings but hopefully you're good to go. Thanks again!!
