I absolutely love my chair zero. The only reason it’s not in this pack are my backpacking sites have had tables. At places without benches/tables I always carry my chair with me.

I love this pack! I have the double rainbow li for my son and I, but he stopped wanting to go so I’m very interested in the single rainbow li. Such a good tent

I’ve been really thinking about getting a Durston tent with how much I like the backpack. If there isn’t a table or bench I always bring my chair (bumps me out of being officially ultralight for those trips 🤣)

I have the Durston X Mid 1. I love it! Does a great job in heavy rain and amazingly easy to set up

I’ve never been to the UK but it certainly looks amazing from the pictures/videos I’ve seen.

I just looked that up, thats a sweet looking pack. I don't know that I could fit all my stuff into 22 liters though.

If it works for you thats what matters, 60l is my perfect sweet spot for a fully functioning pack.

I did show the one stuff sack pillow I have, I enjoyed it more when it was cooler and I still carried a puffy jacket. I’ll probably go back to using it more in the fall.

like he said: it's expensive to go ultralight, and you also have to do a lot of research, you can't just stop at the top 5 search results then call it done... honestly the best route is to not go with any name brand at all, but instead have something custom made for you specifically. for example, a sleeping quilt designed around your specific body size is going to save a lot of weight compared to one designed to fit "the average person" because it won't have that extra material. he could actually get the weight down even lower by switching to a bivvy or a tarp... but we all have to draw weight/comfort/cost/durability line. I've gone the other direction, the weight is going back up as I add comfort choices back in to the mix. your body will adjust to the work it has to do. think of all the shit those WWII vets had to carry across Europe. there was no such thing as ultralight materials back in those days dyneema composite fabric didn't exist yet; carbon fiber didn't exist yet; additive manufacturing didn't exist yet; even the idea of only using as much material as you need to didn't exist yet; but they were able to do it

I have the same problem with side sleeping. The two nemos isn't perfect but its the best solution I've been able to come up with so far, its more like 1.5 as I have one of them very sparingly filled. I'm getting a hammock in soon to see if that can help me out.

Try 3 pillows and buff to contain it all haha. Works quite well with my exped pad that's comfortable for side sleepers because of the vertical baffles. Didn't like the Thermarest horizontal baffles

I normally use a quilt but it’s too darn hot, I might try another quilt in the future but I’m digging how darn light this sea to summit sleeping bag turned out.

That’s a very good point, this is pretty specific to my needs on the trails/parks I frequent.

I’ve got a plex solo but I’m SERIOUSLY considering buying the x mid pro 1, I was surprised with how much I like the bag and am willing to give it a shot.

Also, are you going to do any backpacking videos and do you have any trails you want to get on in the future?

I’ve been mostly in the VA/MD area. And maybe I’d make a specific backpacking video, I’ve gone back and forth on it. I like not having to carry a bunch of camera gear or worry about making a video while I’m hiking.

@@InsertNameHereHiking-mf9ydI use my iPhone 13 to shoot all my stuff and it’s worked out great. No cameras needed.

I don't like the shock cord webbing. The headlamp itself is fine.

@@InsertNameHereHiking-mf9yd I got my nu25 through zpacks. Nit the newer nu25. They sent the light with its original headband and also a much lighter and much more comfortable headband that wasn't a shock cord band. I love that setup! If you can find that headband, it will make a huge difference!

@InsertNameHereHiking-mf9yd I think zpacks now offers one similar to yours but if you could find the other, you will love that headlamp.

Mainly because I already had the pillow stuff sack and didn’t feel like buying another sack. Plus I drop one of the pillows during the cooler times when I can put my puffy in the pillow stuff sack.

Pretty sure it’s bc his tent and food take up an enormous amount of space

I don’t disagree, I could probably have gone to 2.8 or 4 but my office is pretty bad for lighting.

No two pillows and a stuff sack that could be used as one but generally isn’t. I cut out a line where I said I use that for a pillow in the fall/spring because I put my puffy in there. But for the summer I just use it as a dity bag.
