speeds are fine tbh, but even when it says it's fast - when the signal is bad it's almost unusable.

Would work 100x better if you used a hardline Ethernet cable, to connect the node vs having it repeat a weak signal.

Is there any sort of mesh system and standard that halves the speed of you wireless connection like Access Points and Repetears do provided that the mesh used is interconnected on wireless? I didn't this aspect being mentioned or asked on any KZfaq channel about mesh systems!

The american pronunciation of router is primarily used for cnc machinery in the uk

It's how it is supposed to be pronounced, Yanks ruin the English language, bastardising it to oblivion. Router is as this guy says. Yanks say rout for the word rout and route but the song Route 56 they say English route, fkd up.

Handy bit of kit. I guess both/all routers broadcast on the same channel, and communicate on an alternate one between themselves.

I install DD-WRT on my routers and have yet to set up babe extended network with it. Unfortunately, both my routers aren't the same company.

No details on how it works or why it works. How does it make a difference if your device talks to the nearer router, then that has to talk to the main mesh router via wifi, i.e. there are 2 wifi "hops"

Just bought a second AC1900 and tried this but there was no noticeable improvement at all. If anything, devices were confused when moving back and forth, not always connecting to the closest router. Disappointing. Took it back.

I’ve been using the AiMesh system for a while. I bought 3 different Routers. 1 ROG router and the others just standard ASUS routers. They definitely help improve signal strength.

Placement of the 2nd router matters. Ideally you should be getting nearly same speeds in your bedroom.

Bought one of these off amazon the other week and connected it up today.. Amazing difference with the wifi connection in the house now. Considering buying a second for the AIMesh as my room is the furthest away from the modem and eith stone walls I need to leave doors open to get the signal down there. Great video m8

Hello, I do not agree that aimesh is working properly. I am fighting with it for 1,5 year and only right set up is to split networks. So one router one network. After that, you have no issue.

I have ASUS as well but the Zenwifi and I was getting 2-5mbps upstairs in my office and 20-30mbps downstairs near it, after set up with the ASUS now I’m getting 250mbps upstairs and downstairs near it I’m getting 370mbps, I love this router.

I have two ASUS RT-AC68U and had them connected using AiMesh, one in the living room upstairs and one in the kitchen downstairs. The computers and phones like to connect to the router that's further away. Not sure about this "system". Why isn't there a function to automatically connect to the strongest signal? When I connected a third one using AiMesh in the bedroom upstairs it got even worse and WiFi sometimes just didn't work at all.

I face the same issue here but worse. Downstairs the connection reaches 220mbps however in my room I barely get 50mbps which is a shame. I've tried pretty much everything and hope this Asus to get this problem resolved.

Quick question: Can I wire a device to my secondary Aimesh router? or the only method of connection to it would be wirelessly? If possible, what would be the benefits? I have a ROG GT 5300 in my room on the second floor, thinking about buying a second one for this purpose.Thank you.
