I have been watching your videos for a while now and your ability to speak publicly about your insecurities in life ( How people judge me, school, etc) has shown me and made me realize that their is ‘light at the end of the tunnel’. You have also demonstrated to me to look positively on life which i commend you for as I myself struggle with the idea that I am not good enough and your video has shown to me of to focus on my own qualities rather then my bad and to not to be what I am not. I personally hope that you find your way in life and school and your grades don’t define you. I am also currently a JC student who has particularly struggled throughout the year and your videos have inspired me and probably many others of your ability to publicly speak of your insecurities as I wouldnt of ever dreamed of making videos, blogs, etc describing my personal life but from hearing your story I realise I am not alone. You have done your best you could do. There is no point in worrying about it now because they are finished and you should just enjoy your summer holidays as the leaving cert is not the end all and be all you will still find a way to achieve what you want to do. I agree with what you're saying about how the leaving cert is so unfair especially the fact that there is such a difference in points between Higher and ordinary level especially that a pass at higher level is now 30% like I think that is totally wrong. This time next year I will be sitting my leaving cert. The subjects I will be sitting are English, Maths, History, Classical Studies, Chemistry, Biology and Home Economics. I am hoping to do food science in UCD. Best of luck with your results. I know how you were feeling after some of your exams I can relate as I became unwell two weeks before my Summer exams due to the fact that in my school whenever we have in house exams there is always 3 exams scheduled in one day. On one of those days I was scheduled to have my History, Chemistry and Maths exam all on in the same day and I became very stressed and unwell as a result. I don't think that I could do three written exams in a day and do well in all three at all. I felt that this was very unfair because I felt that I wasn't given the opportunity to do the best I could. But luckily in the end the teacher who organised the exam timetable talked to my chemistry teacher and I got to sit my chemistry exam on the day when everyone else was doing missed or repeat exams. But as a result of myself becoming stressed my mental health was very bad before my exams began like I ate less breakfast than normal or I didn't want to eat breakfast because I felt that I was going to vomit but luckily during the time of the exams that feeling started to go away. I know that the exam results I have received in my Summer exams are just a stepping stone. There are some results I am happy with and there are a few I am disappointed with. I feel that if I hadn't become stressed ill I might have done slightly better in my exams in some of my subjects. My results were Chemistry H6 (This is a disappointing grade because I worked so hard for this subject but I am not disappointed with it because I felt that even during the exam I didn't interrupt the questions correctly and My grade shows this but with exam practice I am confident that my grade will improve). Maths=H5 (I would have liked to have gotten higher but the exam was tougher than Xmas and I did more than enough to pass higher level and honours maths is very tough and demanding). Home Economics=H4 (I am extremely disappointed with this result I know that it's still a good grade but at Xmas I got a H2 in this subject and I was only a few marks away from a H1 and my aim is H1 for leaving cert Home Economics I am not going to let my fifth year summer exam put a stop for me in order to achieve that aim. Especially that Home Economics is one of my best subjects along with History. What happened there was a repeat of what happened to me in junior cert year where in the mock I got an A in Home Economics but in the real thing I only got a B which I know is not my true ability at all but on the day of the jc exam I was ill unfortunately. I really don't want a repeat of this to happen to me this time next year.) Biology= H3 (Delighted with this Mark I feel like I am on the right track in Biology). Classical studies= H3 (Over the moon with this result as Classical studies is a very tough exam). English=H3 (I am delighted with this result as I have always struggled with English all the way through primary school and to achieve a high H3 I feel like I have come such a long way in this subject). History=H2 (I am very pleased with this result because I put in so much work into History and I love this subject so much. However I am not surprised by this result as I had a very strong RSR project and the paper on the day happened to go my way).

Well done! Regardless of how the exams went, you have gotten through the toughest exams (in my experience) that you will sit. I'm so sorry to hear that your performance was hindered by the system that we currently have in place in Ireland. The leaving cert is so unfair, it has nothing to do with how much work you put in and it is ridiculous that 2 years of learning a subject is tested in just a few hours. I'm very lucky in that I hardly ever have to study to get an average grade but there are people in my class who do and then all the teacher sees or cares about is the grade. I have bad anxiety too and I can't imagine having that kind of academic pressure on top of everything else. I commend you for surviving our shitty education system and I wish you the best for your results and for college. : )

I’m sure you did great in your exams! I can totally relate to English. I put my heart and soul into studying for it as well but the anxiety just takes over on the day. All that hard work over the past 2 years just for one exam, it’s nerve wrecking. When Heaney didn’t show up it was so disappointing. Anyways, I hope all goes well for you! 🤗

Only catching this now, but yeah I completely agree with pretty much everything you said. There's a lot wrong with the LC, I get that it's not the end of the world if something goes wrong, but that doesn't really make it good. They gotta fix it instead of telling us it'll all be grand afterwards. Either way vid was great and congrats on 500 subs chief 👌

Chick don’t overthink it. It’s not healthy for you at all. Clearly you’re dedicated and I’m sure it’ll all work out for you in the end. Don’t let the anxiety consistently bring yourself down. Trust me, I know exactly what you’re saying I have it myself. It takes time, and we can’t stop it from making an appearance, especially during exams. If you say that you studied hard, then please believe that your work will pay off. I know it will. :)x

I felt the exact same for history. I was fully sure it would go wrong for me but I knew my 3 essays well enough so I’m hoping for a decent grade

im literally so anxious right now thinking about the results i know from my pres that i could get into a level 7 or maybe go to a back up school but im just so dissapointed that my first choice feels so far out of reach right now

For history you said ‘I couldnt remember anything’ it’s annoying that like you didn’t have difficulty understanding what it was asking ,you just couldn’t remember dates making it literally a memory exam not a show of ur skill I hope the SEC change their system somehow and make it more fairer because knowing whether Lincoln died on April 15th won’t help you in social care which is so unfair that it has an impact on whether you’ll get that course But you’ll do amazing I really hope you get what you want I still have 2 more exams😅but you go out party and have a great summer and I hope ur happy come August🧡

I did the exact same questions for English paper 1 as you! Hope it goes well for us! I have two exams left Monday and Friday next week but mentally I am already ready to finish the exams😄

Wow I did the exact same subjects that you did! I felt the same for English, paper 1 was nice but paper 2 went dreadful for me, I got 60% in my mocks as well so I was really hoping for a H3 but now I’ll be lucky if I get a H5! Homec was definitely the weirdest paper structure wise, you could kind of bullshit the whole thing? Barely anything about food on it, really strange! I did ordinary maths and the only reason I think I passed was because I got grinds, 100% would have failed otherwise! Irish and French I’m not counting so I did ordinary for both of them and left as soon as possible haha. Like you I struggled to know Biology no matter how hard I worked at it, I want to do Veterinary Nursing in college so I had to do higher level, I scraped a H5 in the mocks so I’m hoping I can get a H4 if I’m reallyyyyy lucky! History was the exam that I was absolutely terrified for and the subject I put the most work into by far, I was absolutely DELIGHTED that the Programme for Economic Expansion came up as I had drilled it into my head, Coleraine came up so I was happy with that, Nazi Germany didn’t come up for the first time in years so I was devastated with that!! I bullshitted something about Stalin but I’m afraid that could bring me down a whole grade and then through my panic I was running out of time so I wrote 2 pages on Nikita Khrushchev just to bump my marks up. I did LCVP as well and I’m prayingggg I got a distinction. Overall I don’t think I got the points I needed for college but I have a PLC as a backup so not too worried :) I wish you the best of luck with your results, thank god it’s all over, we did it!! x
