Just a small training session of me teaching a lab how to swim. She was afraid of getting in the pool and her owners had no idea how to show her that the pool is “ok” with the right techniques she was jumping in the pool all by herself In literally MINUTES 🤟🙌

I have a dog who seems to have a fascination with our pool. He'd drop his ball in it to watch it float around, and even get in at the top step to cool off. But we could not convince him to get in to swim at all-- until I saw this video. I did this once with him and we spent the rest of the swim session with him dropping his ball in the pool then running to the steps to jump in after it! Thank you so much for this, so simple but it improved my dog's quality of life.

He presents training in 7 days. Each of 7 items are commands that he believes a dog should know. They are presented in part ii of the book kzfaq.infoUgkxK8-VQWpYThx4IC6MiIvb6VS1ebTzzdxq . The parts of the guideare divided: part i know your dog part ii the seven commands part iii cures for 7 behavior problems. Each chapter presents a topic, a dog's story, and a "what to do". As a dog trainer I can say that the reason that this man is so valuable to the dog training community is because he doesn't overcomplicate things. He did nothing here...all he did was encourage and compel the dog into the water in a safe and trustworthy way. That's it. No, "MAGIC WAY TO GET YOUR DOG TO SWIM IMMEDIATELY" bullshit. He just guided the dog into the water. That was it. Never before had this family even considered...making their dog get in the water in a safe depth. That's all it took. This simple concept, when applied in other areas, can CHANGE OWNER'S LIVES. Love it! Keep it up!

My dog was taught to swim by the most obedient Rottweiler I have ever seen. A polish woman near me had a Rottweiler trained so well Cesar Milan would ask for tips if he met the dog, the woman got the rotty to play with my dog, then kept having the Rottweiler jump in and out of the water until my dog joined her. Now Daisy loves the water to.

Love love that guy. His book contains some of the easiest instructions to follow to get the best results kzfaq.infoUgkxKkYeOoCV_w2vPX0CSyVWkhew2c4FYk0d . I have two 7 month old schnoodle puppies. They will sit, down, stay, no, leave it. Walk on a leash and more. I trained them not to crowd the door and dash out. Just follow his methods and use a lot of patience. If you have watched his tv show, you get a really good idea how to do a lot of the stuff in the guide. What you don't see on tv is how much time he really spends doing those easy things. All i can say is if you put in the time and patience and hundreds of repeititons, you will enjoy a really well behaved dog.

I taught my dog to swim similarly, it took a few days instead of minutes though. Any time she would panic I would let her go back, but if she was just a little hesitant, I would put pressure on the leash and encourage her forward. Going to try again tomorrow: wish me luck! 😁✊🏻 Edit: The second day he came to the first step much quicker. He still didn’t want to go down to the second, so my method now is to let him launch into the water from the first step. Edit: He went to the first step without the leash guiding him!! He still didn’t want to go in any farther but my dad picked him up and bobbed him up and down like a baby 😂 I’ve decided to be done with him swimming this year, but next year we will try again!

The reason I see that this is a thing is because she isn't afraid of the water, it's because they've accidentally taught her to show fear of the water, and their reinforcement and gullibility of that behaviour is why they could never get her in the water. ❤he’s the dog daddy. He is constantly explaining everything but you’ll need to record it and play it back slowly and transcribe it by hand, and even then, you’ll never do what he does because he is magic.

Wow great work👏. All the dogs I’ve seen u work with just seem to love and trust your presence. U have a fantastic aura. I Only found your channel yesterday but I can’t get enough. It’s like u dissolve their fears as soon as they see you.

You can also put a chair near the steps so that they see it when they’re at the water level that works. Also great job bravo my dog went in with other dogs and then from there forward there was no problem.

This makes me cry like a baby.... this family loves this dog and has a beautiful pool, which the dog, sadly, is afraid of ----and within minutes she has discovered a fantastic new thrill, THE POOL!!! Hooray! (Although, now, the family's problem will be keeping her OUT of the pool.)

In almost every instance, people unwittingly transmit their tension to the dog. This causes the reluctance in the dog, or exacerbates it. As we saw at the beginning when the guy tried to get her to go into the water. He was already nervous because previous attempts had failed. And as soon as the dog tried to back away, he let her. But you don't. You exude confidence, and the dogs pickup on it. It's what makes them feel safe. Training the owners not to transmit their fear, or their tension when the dog shows fear, is really what allows this to work. As you have shown us hundreds of times. This particular dog is now going o be leading its best life. Able to enjoy the pool without being afraid. Well done. Very well done.

@@archfps right, I been binge watching them 😆 and yes, basically criticizing his techniques with dogs. That it’s not right, being too rough and shutting dogs down, etc. But I’ve never seen that.

@@F3ARcsgo I really did think the same but recently been educating myself on prong collars like their function and how would one properly use one and it really isn’t what it seems at first. Anything can be harmful in the hands of an uneducated user, so knowing how to properly use one and when I think is most important.

@@F3ARcsgo it’s only for training and after researching, bought one for my dogs and have only used it once on my smaller dog and he instantly got what I was communicating to him and haven’t needed to place it back on for walks. And now he follows me in the house wanting to go on walks. I’m happy cause I know he’ll walk next to me on a regular leash now
