Good question! So one thing is contacts (the best thing). They will just talk about you. People just know you. Or they ask who made it and so on. But I did write a lot of emails kind of just mentioning what I have done and what I can do. Also, LinkedIn really gave me a lot of jobs. So yeah, Kind of like what you mentioned actually hahah I should dig out my old emails xD

Goals

Yes it’s a bit confusing I agree haha. What I tried to say is: real cars are made with CAD/Nurbs. These cars will also get rendered so no need to model. Also I rarely model now days actually. My main job is visualization and animation. So no modeling, I usually get models.

I fully agree it’s not only talent or work. But more work. Also luck. But if you just shoot shoot shoot luck becomes higher. At some-point it triggers. But I do sometimes think back and try to imagine if it would’ve never worked. I think what mostly worked for me works also, but maybe 10 years later. I guess I was lucky it came quite early for me. But I did try try try. This video is just a fraction of all I’ve done in that time. But it gives a brief overview. I swear I lived 40 years till I was 25 hahah I’m now about 50 inside hahah

@@champion9197 if you want a tip right now, search up ‘substance painter’ and try to learn it. That’s pretty much the best way in my opinion. Blender is also good, but substance ist better for that.

You don't need a design school. All you need is a PC. The Internet has way more to give, than a design school ever could. And best part? The Internet is free and accessible from your home. Case Closed. Once you got a skill: You can try to get an internship or work for free. You could also try fiverr or upwork. You can also start messaging companies via Instagram, many options. A friend got multiple viral reels this year, which is now bringing him jobs as well. Also KZfaq is a great place as well. Many options, just got to do it. Step by step. One foot at a time.

I skipped that part. If I would have gone to university I would not have had such success at the age of 21+. Also the things I do you can’t really learn in university to be honest. I also hated school and barely finished. Only thing that was interesting to me was math. I started business administration in Uni but dropped out because it was a waste of time to me since I didn’t want to be a tax attorney after haha. Also I did Computer Science at Harvard (online from Germany) and also dropped out because it was way too deep, I wasn’t too interested. All my knowledge comes from the internet and people I meet as well as just me coming up with random stuff. Also i used to really be into OpenGL where I learned a lot. All the car stuff I learned over the years comes from working for different brands. Pretty much most of my knowledge is from people and just beeing in the industry to be honest. Most things I know you can’t find on the internet I think.

This is just my personal opinion, but for me university just is way to slow. What you learn in 3 years can easily be learned in under 1 year. Every single person I meet that did game design or what ever design at university really does not know much. Also I learn because I really want to know. Most people coming from university just want the paper and forget it’s about actually knowing stuff. I also get a ton of applications of master students and so on that show me their portfolio. Like no hate but trust me, 95% look like they started 2 months ago. Even coders are so caught up with clean coding, they forget it’s actually about writing a cool Skript or what ever that actually does something haha. But also what to expect from a professor that probably wasn’t very successful him self. But keep in mind, that’s just my personal opinion. Most will disagree with me haha

@@DamianMathew Just saying you don't really say anything about what your job involved. What parts of creating the renders you had to do. Like if you had to make your own models or supplied with them. It's like you're giving a summary expecting us to know your life or experience with the job. Now I could piece together what you were doing going through 2-3 more videos but you're just really vague on info. We want to hear what it's like. Hear your experiences. Hear what's expected of you. Cause cases like the Bentley render you're just saying you made a good render. Now did that involve modelling because you talked about doing that for another job? Did you need to make the textures or just materials? Be clear on what you're talking about cause your videos often feel like a summary rather than an explenation
