15:04 Because you leave the bounds of the chunk, the game can't calculate the local difficulty, which is chunk based, therefore it can't put the day counter either

@@de_rbyPanicking just makes everything worse. Since he’s actually good at the game, he focused on the correct priorities. Pulling off tricks like that is also nothing special for skilled players, so I’m not surprised he wasn’t fazed by it.

I would have been fine with a theoretical demonstration that just uses a teleport command to get to the world border rather than traveling there by normal means. But you put in the extra work to make it legitimate and I respect that a lot. A very impressive achievement! Congratulations on (most likely) being the first person to do this without cheats in Survival!

15:05 I believe the day counter disappears at y>256 because it's on the Local Difficulty line, and above y=256 you aren't in a chunk so local difficulty isn't displayed. The day counter disappearing is just a side effect of that

11:35 the villager changes aren't implemented in 1.20.2, they're only under "experimental features" and may or may not be added at a later date. Unless you're talking about the re-zombification bugfix.

Even if the content did get a little dry in places, it was still something of a novelty to see someone strive for something (especially to this extent) as bizarre as one of the rarest death messages. I would go as far to say that this is more entertaining then the vast majority of Minecraft content that comes out nowadays, and a great achievement on your behalf.

The day counter is there for local difficulty (chunk based extra difficulty for when you’re in an arena for long enough) there are no chunks above y=256 (at least thats my understanding of it)

I’m not sure if this would work but is it possible to instead of fly all the way back and use a fishing rod to instead use a daylight sensor or red stone clock to activate the pearl? You could make a chunk loader and then die which sends you back to spawn, and then put another ender pearl in a chest by the border to clip out. Just a thought (btw absolutely insane video, just wow)

The issue here is timing. He would have to make sure that the Dragon hits him within 5s of the Ender Pearl being consumed. Which he could not guarantee on a set timer. It would be entirely possible for the dragon to not cooperate, causing him to miss his chance and be teleported back to the border. Admittedly, there would be a rather low cost to such attempt, since he could just reset it and try again immediately, but doing things unreliably is a bad habit to get into.

Unbelievably impressive feat, I could only imagine the dedication and patience you have to have endured travelling BACK AND FORTH the entire world without a copious amount of Elytras and not even enough fireworks to complete the whole journey, having to build 2 creeper + sugar cane farms along the way.
