DISCLAIMER: This video is what worked for MY hair, which is naturally very straight. I explain my hair texture and type in the video, but if your hair is super curly or dry or just very different from mine, I would not recommend these tips.
(PS: yes this was filmed before my braces came off!!)

My hair grows fast last April or 8 months ago I had around 12 inches of hair now I have almost 24 inches of hair my "secret" are - Drink LOTS of water - if your hair is damaged just cut off the really bad ends PLEASE (I did because if you don't your new length will just continue to split) - Don't over brush your hair - Sleep with it in a loose braid - Don't shampoo too much - Don't wear it up a lot - NO HEAT!!!!! Yeah that's it I also use coconut oil every like 1 to 2 weeks on my ends and a little on my scalp for a massage! ♥♥

My hair is currently mid-thigh length. My hair has always been long but over the years I've cut it from time to time between knee-length and waist length. However, I'm 70 now!!!! I have dyed my hair for years now...just the roots, Loreal. My hair is long and thick and people never guess I color it. Loreal holds its color so well! And again, only the roots need the color, thanks to Loreal. I saw an old pic of me with nearly knee-length hair at 18...my hair looks EXACTLY the same at 70! My point is: if you love long hair, don't think you have to cut it at a certain age. Be patient, the less you fuss with it the better...and enjoy :-) Nice video, beautiful woman!

I don't think this works for everyone. I have friends that do all those things & can only grow their hair for 6inches a year. Then there's me who doesn't use any of these products or trim it every 2 weeks and my hair grows also 12inches a year. I think it depends on your genes. Correct me if I'm wrong though.
@qp4904
@qp4904 5 жыл бұрын
Absolutely true. Most stuff is just gimmicks. Hair growth mostly depends on genetics. The average hair growth is 6 inches per year. Some people cannot grow their hair past their shoulders, but the average max length is 2-3 feet I think. Healthy hair is more important than length. My hair is just over 3.5 feet. I don't do anything to it. Used to dye it yearly for many years but now it's too long. I never use any heat on it, only shampoo and condition twice a week with nothing fancy, don't brush wet (straight, fine hair). But I also have not had a cut in almost 2 years since my barber left and the others all refuse to cut it because I'm female (bad experiences with female hairdressers in the past many times). It has a lot of split ends so I'd like a foot off, but everyone always thinks it's healthy because it's shiny. My diet isn't good ha. Genetics.

@@KK-jl8em I'm not healthy at all though. But I know that's true for some people. It's kinda weird how some things like healthy food can effect your hair growth like that. Just like water, it is true that drinking lots of water makes your hair stronger, more shiny and healthier. Only for me it doesn't work, it's never been split at the ends or less shiny or less healthy, it's weird.

I've found that the Conair paddle brushes work well. They're strong enough to get through my hair but gentle enough as not to break it. However, it does brush out my curls quite a bit so they don't look as good. I do use a wide toothed comb for when I want to wear my hair out/down so my curls don't come out as waves. I also have a question about sulfates. Could they work well for really oily hair? I've found that if I use just a bit and really make sure to scrub my scalp it works okay but, I'm still not sure if it's all that great for my hair.

At the time, those were the items I used, a super wide tooth comb and paddle brush and my friend told me the Wet Brush would change my life. I don't know why I didn't try it sooner but I love it so much that I bought one for the house, one for the car, one for my backpack and one for my husbands truck and one for each of my girls! Celena Hurst my hair always tangles if I have too many split ends, maybe try cutting your hair if it’s damaged and getting a good leave in conditioner? That’s what I did and my hair doesn’t tangle as much anymore, I also got a silk pillow case and a microfiber towel to ensure my hair doesn’t break easily

Putting argon oil on your ends and all over your hair will prevent tangling. :) I do this each and every time after I wash or if I brush and if my hair is dry. Especially in places I know hold tonnes of tangles.

I am curious what your recipe was for making the brown using Arctic Fox colors. I want something close to my natural that's semi-permanent, but that doesn't seem to exist! I went with demi-permanent last time and it turned out too dark and refuses to fade. I think my natural color is pretty similar to yours.

My problem with using wet brushes is that, because my hair is so thick and curly, a wet brush only untangles the first layer of my hair. If I were to use a wet brush everyday, I would probably spend 45 minutes to an hour a day brushing my hair. I have to use a similar brush, with more bristles, but it is all plastic so my thick hair won't break the brush. With more bristles, you are able to brush more hair at one time, and it takes a shorter amount of time. Other then the whole thing about the wet brush, this video was really good feedback!! Thanks B!!

Lali Baloch try using castor oil mixed with olive oil or coconut oil! I massage it into the roots of my hair before i wash it and it really helps to make the hair grow faster!! :) i recommend doing it like every other month so that your hair doesn't get used to it because then it wont grow as fast as if you take a one-month break:)

Use castor oil. I recommend a mixture of castor oil and coconut oil (because castor oil is really thick and sticky so it's hard to use on its own), heat it up and rub it on your roots (doing the inversion method, search it on KZfaq cause its easier to understand) and length of the hair. Castor oil helps a lot with hair growth and coconut oil helps to moisturise hair like crazy, so you have hair growth and less slip ends. Do it like twice a week and leave it for 3/+ hours. Good luck

Cut off all the damage and focus on preventative measures, such as oil treatments on the lengths before shampooing to protect the hair from harsh chemicals, and good leave-in moisturizers afterwards. Try some gentle organic sulfate-free shampoos. Always wash your hair with lukewarm water, hot water is terrible for your hair. Also, style your hair in a way that would protect it (braids, buns, etc., just don't make it too tight, or you'll get traction alopecia. Remember, if you want nice hair, you gotta baby it.). Oil treatments on the scalp don't work for me personally (they make my hair fall out, ironic enough), but so many people swear by them, so give it a try. The only thing that works for me in terms of actually speeding up growth is vitamin supplements, my favourite is Perfectil, but you can find a variety of supplements for hair, skin and nails on the market (of course, do your research and talk to your doctor before taking any pills, don't just listen to strangers on the internet). I found that supplements improve not only the speed with which my hair grows, but also the texture. P.S.: and for God's sake, when will people realize that the advice to cut your hair every 6-8 weeks if you wanna grow it out is bullshit? You need a trim when you ned a trim. Point blank period. I can go for 6 months without getting split ends, cause I'm that meticulous with my hair care, why would I want to cut it more often than that?

Vanessa Burns put castor oil and coconut oil on your scalp then do the Inversion Method 3 to 5 times for every other months. Use hair protein or treatment masque. Wash your hair 1or 2 times for 1 week and prepoo for the rest of the week. Add aloe vera to your deep condition. Less heat to your hair and use protective styles to hair. Good luck
