I grew my show from just over 4000 downloads a month to now 12,000 downloads a month, and in this video, I wanted to show you how you can do the same!
📕 TABLE OF CONTENTS 📕
00:00 - 02:04 How I grew my podcast to 10,000 downloads
02:05 - 06:12 The importance of being consistent
06:13 - 10:42 Asking for reviews!
10:43 - 15:12 How to use SEO to grow your podcast

I launched "Bad Attitudes: An Uninspiring Podcast About Disability" last summer and am really hoping to grow my listener and download numbers this year. I wanted to tap into the disability community, as well as people with disabled people in their lives and allies to the disabled community to focus on what it *really* means to live as a disabled person in the 2020s. My focus is on educating listeners but to do it with a mix of humor and sarcasm, without turning our stories into inspiration p*rn.

This video was super helpful! Ive had my mental health podcast for 2 years now, and as someone who struggles with their mental health daily, it's been hard to figure everything out. Finally getting the hang of it though. My podcast is my passion. Ideally I would love to be able to do it full time, so I sincerely appreciate you providing all of this wonderful knowledge on here. Thank you so much Katie!!!

THANK YOU for what you said about consistency. I tend to get burned out easily and consistency is hard. I've been making content since 2014 and trying to grow my channel more in the last two years and I also started a podcast in January. It's hard when social media isn't your job and stuff comes up, I always feel bad and hate that I can't be more consistent bc motivation is hard sometimes.

Great video! Consistency is definitely a big key, I'm glad you pointed out that every needs to allow grace for times when life happens and you can't produce consistently. We're all human, and many of us are doing it all on our own without production teams! I relaunched my podcast recently, switching it up from a solo show (I was majorly on the struggle bus) to co-hosting with my sister. It's like night and day and I think it'll make a big difference in the listeners' experience! It's called Creative, Happy Life on Apple Podcasts. :)

Hi Katie! Great video! Love all the insights and tips! I am preparing for my first podcast for my day job….a wellness podcast for cancer survivors. My first guest will be with a cancer survivor who quit her job after her diagnosis. She has gone on to write a book about women in leadership and has started her own coaching business 🧡

I appreciate what you are doing. In 2020 I started a podcast for restaurant, bar and cafe owners. I interview owners (and chefs) to inspire others into action! Grow their restaurant. I love being the catalyst, but am still having a hard time gaining 1. listeners 2. reviews (which of course go hand in hand). Youve given me some helpful SEO stuff that i will now put into action. If ever you want to interview someone who is running a pod, and you can give in-the-moment help, I would be happy to be that guest : )

Really fantastic tips, thoroughly enjoying your laid back but professional style. I've been thinking about starting a podcast for some time now; I'm a safari guide and thought it would be fun sharing tips and experiences about wildlife and travelling in South Africa. It's really for fun but who knows, with your tips and suggestions it may grow to be interesting for others.

Hey Katie! Thanks for the video. I have a French podcast on books, which is kind of a niche but we've been able to secure 30 people listening every week. It's not that much but we don't know how to get out of the niche? Do you think we should switch to English and potentially lose some of our audience members in order to grow outside of that niche? 🕵️‍♂️
