I agree u-parts are the clutch. I wear them sparingly, with heavily moisturized, 2 strand twist underneath. My hair has been growing like a weed. 🙌🏾

Sounds like hair twins! My hair is colored. As of April last time was September 2022. My hair NEVER stays for 2 weeks but I go to a stylist every 2 weeks. About to do everything myself except blow dry and flat iron. I don’t like my hair combed without finger detangling first

Informative video! My last silk press, I had retained so much length and my hair was the longest it’s ever been. I could do better with trims. With my hair being so fine what do you recommend? I would love to wear it but as soon as moisture hits it the straightness does not last

I’m glad it was helpful! I don’t know too much about caring for fine hair so I’d recommend doing research online & finding a natural hair stylist that you trust. There’s a possibility your hair is lacking moisture which may cause it to absorb a lot of moisture from the environment.

I have fine natural hair and I’m at bra strap length. Our hair is fragile and can break easily so not too much heat or manipulation. I had to stop getting sew ins and quick weaves, straighten or silk press once a month, regular trims, protein treatments, deep conditioners etc. I don’t apply heat again after that so you have to get comfortable with it not being bone straight all the time. But actually like a little texture it makes my hair look fuller. I also do heatless curls braid outs etc if I need to refresh. But she’s right if your hair is dry from not conditioning it well your silk press may revert easier or if you’re not heat trained yet

@@Sparkle-ey7iw I’ve been retaining length thank god. Haven’t used heat on my hair since November. I’m doing good with my deep conditioning and adding heat so it can penetrate! I need to do better with my trims can’t lie. I have low porosity hair so I finally have learned what it truly needs. My protective styles are wigs. How often do you moisturize your hair?

@@Sparkle-ey7iwfine hair here. I get it done every two weeks but after 5 days it is O.V. lol then I just do whatever to keep it looking ok. Been doing twist outs lately about mid back 😊

Any recommendations on summer styling without wigs/weaves/braids?
@ChaviAllie
@ChaviAllie 2 ай бұрын
I do low maintenance styles on my own hair like a loose bun/ponytail, claw clip style or half up-half down. You can also do braid outs to disguise frizz from warmer, more humid weather.

How do you style your hair in the summer?

I live in SoCal so the weather is mild in the summer & allows me to still wear my natural hair straightened. But I also like protective styles like u part wigs & clip ins!
its been 6 months since my big chop and my hair hasn't grown
