Wow this really hit home! I think this is the video on journaling I’ve related to the most in a really long time. Sounds like you’ve already worked through a lot of things I’m finding myself dealing with currently… Like learning to stop censoring myself in my writing, and to stop beating myself up for failing to conform to arbitrary standards of how I should be journaling. Also still learning to stop judging myself for being cringy/selfish/etc. in how I express myself in my journals. A journal is meant to get it all out in a safe way, and then you can process through the feeling and respond to it in a healthier way irl. …Still working on it. I especially love the bit about not recapping your day. When I find I haven’t journaled in a while I feel like I need to recap all the important events the happened since the last time but it definitely feels like such a chore and doesn’t make me want to keep writing. I never used to include any context when I first started journaling and it’s so funny rereading and not really knowing what was happening but having a clear description of how I felt about it. Very mysterious 😂 sometimes I can remember though.

Thank you so much for your lovely comment! I think this is why journaling is so important, because it constantly asks you to show up to the page, analyse yourself, and try and get better. I'd like to think one day I'll have mastered journaling, but I don't see that ever being the case haha. They'll always be something to learn, which I guess is why we like it so much.

This is the first video of yours I've watched, and I enjoyed it greatly, just say here and listened all the way through. I can relate a lot to a great deal of what you've said, the journaling flow state and the journaling when you feel inspired not everyday to name a few, and I also like working through thoughts and problems on paper.

Hi! I really enjoyed your take on journaling, especially the simplicity with which you approach it. For the longest time, I took things too seriously, like morning pages having to be 3 pages. Then I watched a video from „Talks from the Heart“ and Robin said, it doesn’t matter, just journal. And she’s absolutely right. Thanks for sharing, I really value your input.

Thank you so much! Yeah, it definitely took me a long time to realise I didn't have to be perfect in my journals, and it was kind of the point to not be. I will definitely check out this Talks from the Heart channel, she looks really cool!

I find it so cool to see how you explained at the beginning of the video what journaling means to you and the people you have been following that inspired you, because I really relate to it. I also enjoy Overall Adventures' videos and a lot of other people. They always have a cozy and creative vibe, just like your videos do!! :)

Overall Adventures was such an integral part of my journaling, and a big reason why I started talking about it on youtube as well. I could only hope to make cozy videos like her, so thank you so much for your lovely comment!

What a lovely video! I’ve been journaling six years and i related sooo so much to your approach to it. Writing down location is a great idea and im going to start doing that!

Thank you so much! I really enjoy writing down locations, because like I said it gives context if I'm reading through later, but I think it's also cool to look back and see all of the different locations I've journaled in.

Thank you for this video, I had to LOL when you talked about you prefer at the moment not to talk about your feelings with anyone, and then it pops up VIRGO, yep I am also Virgo, and I do the same thing and I journal in my own way. I have a slight OCD, so for me my journals need to be in chronological order. Apart from that, I mix in everything as I have a master's degree in art, I put art, dreams, what I did that day, feelings, spiritual happenings and so on.

Haha I'm glad my fellow virgos understand. Your journals sound fascinating! I love having my journal be a catch all for everything, dreams, artwork, so on, so I think that's a really cool method!

Great video! I find it hard to find the type of journaling videos that I am looking. I’m so grateful I came across yours, not just a flip through with perfect collages, but actual genuine commentary about what you’ve learned and just everything journal related. Thank you 👍
