holy shit the conversation thing would be a game changer for me. i need to practice talking to people in my target language like a real conversation but i have such bad social anxiety, this could be the solution

Chatgpt is surely great to get support when not having a teacher around. I use it usually to have grammar explained and also let it come up often with short stories and the breakdown of the vocab and grammar. And then I let it write multiple stories with exact that vocab and grammar. It is quite fun and I improve my reading comprehension as well as make everything stick much better. I also regularly chatting it away with "Chatty" as it has obviously endless facts about everything I am interested in. As for corrections however, I do not really trust it anymore. If you have short sentences or not very advanced onces, than it seems alright. But for the two languages I use it for, I have a B2/C1 level and I can tell, that it sometimes is making my text worse than it was and often very google translator-ish, regardless how often I re-write the prompt and ask it to write it natural, casual, native like etc. I also had multiple situations were a native speaker would correct a lot, after I had it corrected by Chatgpt and when I showed my original text, the native speaker classified my original text more accurate and natural than the corrected Chatgpt version.

@@merveaslan3603 Hi Merve, I'm still learning English myself and I still make a lot of mistakes. The best option is to find a native speaker. As for how I learned English, I consumed a lot of media and shows in English and used Language Reactor and other browser extensions to learn with the subtitles. I also used the add-on Reverso when reading books on my laptop or articles on websites etc. For output I used italki, which is not free, but I also used Hello Talk a lot and spoke to native speakers there for free.

If you want to to correct your texts, you do need to open a new prompt and just ask it to correct it in that language. Sometimes GPT takes the role a bit too far but it does know most languages ‘fluently’

These are great tips! I am at an intermediate level in one of my target languages, and I use AI to practice speaking. I use the microphone feature to ask questions using my target language, like "Why has my dog stopped eating?" The AI responds in my target language, so I get some reading comprehension practice as well. The best part about this exercise is, that AI needs very specific wording to answer a question correctly, so I will often have to repeat my question in different ways to get the information I'm looking for.

Girl ur a genius i've been struggling reading kanji in japanese cause i dont have such resources as manga especially for kids (cause im totally beginner) and i was just scrolling utube and found this video im really grateful for it, if i don't find this video i might still struggling learning kanji for months, i really appreciate for u making this video cause i never saw anything brilliant as this👏😁

I'm studying Japanese as well around N3 level the kanji struggle never goes away. T-T This started helping me. It may sound crazy but I actually started chinese on duolingo! Thinking it will help my kanji. Since it's lot is the same kanji just pronounced different. It has definitely helped. Going from maximum hard chinese characters back to Japanese kanji. It dosen't seem that bad anymore. Plus if I quit now the bird is gonna come for me.😂 My uni uses elementary genki 1 textbook and workbook for Japanese i highly recommend it. I was using it even when I was a middle schooler.

I'm a bit skeptical about chat gpt. It's great with English but I tried making it say something in my native language and there are a lot of times when its grammar is wrong or the wording is unnatural.

these were all so helpful, thank you so much! i'd also like to recommend using it as a translator, text summarizer, simplifier, etc. for more advanced level learners. i realized that its translations are more accurate and natural compared to google translate or papago, so i've been using it to translate blogs, articles, books sentence by sentence and analyze each of them, match the words to improve vocabulary and such. and if a text is too complicated or you would like to see it written with different phrases and ways of expressions, you can ask chatgpt to paraphrase, summarize, or simplify the language then work with these new sources. hope these help too! 🌸🌸
