I've been trying to learn Esperanto using DuoLingo and I also am doing so via a book I bought called Step-by-Step in Esperanto by Montague C. Butler. When I'm going through the book and run across a word I don't remember or a new word I immediately write it down on a list on a piece of paper (one paper has the English and another paper has the Esperanto). Each morning I grab both pieces of paper and go through the Esperanto sheet looking at one word at a time. If I remember the word I put a tick mark above it, if I don't I take a scratch sheet of paper and write the word down 10 times (just like in elementary school) in both English and Esperanto as a sort of physical rote memory exercise. When I'm done with the Esperanto sheet I move on to the English sheet and go through each of those trying to remember and making marks or writing them down 10 times. When I've remembered either the English or Esperanto on each sheet and have 10 ticks I stop reviewing that word for good as I should have it memorized by that point. If I hit the word again in the future and can't remember it I re-add it to the list again and repeat the process. It's a little time consuming but seems to work for me.

Thanks for the links! I'm a constant komencanto, too, and I have had issues with becoming fluent. Yet I will continue to keep trying.

If you want to learn a foreign language, it can be quite challenging to learn the vocabulary and grammar. Of course, Esperanto has a simple and regular grammar: this is not the hurdle to overcome. It requires alway effors to expand your vocabulary. Mind mapping can be very useful in that process. Kaj ne forgesu: vi ricevos rekompencon pro via penado! Cxiam! Salutojn el Flandrio, Belgio.

Isn't a hairdresser's salon (a.k.a. "hairdresser's parlor", "hairdresser's shop") "frizejo" rather than "salono"? (Though PIV does list "frizosalono", so there's that: vortaro.net/#frizosalono)

Why Bye = Until?
@hogbenfan2 жыл бұрын
@@Avrauconiteros-Null_One short for 'until next time' / 'until we meet again' / 'until I see you again' Ĝis la revido!
@hogbenfan2 жыл бұрын
yes, lavujo is a washbasin, maybe for washing clothes in; baseno is more a geographical feature like a reservoir, or the pacific basin for example lavabo is the right word for a salon

Have you tried Anki? I find it very useful for memorizing / studying everything and also the vocabulary. You just have to put in the information you want to remember and it does the rest of the work for you. In exchange of taking the initial time to learn how to use it and doing reviews 10 / 20min daily (depending on your workload).
