I can’t believe anyone nitpicks that Eruption solo. IT WAS AMAZING. I cant believe the tone you got. Closer than many guitarists I’ve heard. You keep rockin’. “If you can sing it you can play it” was a rule when I studied and performed jazz in college. I feel many guitarists could learn from you…especially this video.

I’m a self taught guitarist. I’ve also been a sound reinforcement engineer. I have however been out of it for more then 30 years and still, I could tell you were legit playing eruption and you absolutely did it justice. In fact I did comment on your rendition of it. Quite frankly I never thought that it could be done. You proved me oh so wrong. Technology has improved greatly since my day of analog devices.

I play electric guitar, I know I'm a bit off-topic, but I remember how surprised I was when I got the chance to hear a cello played by a professional in my sitting room, right in front of me: the amount of harmonics that were coming out of that instrument! It really sounded like a close relative to a distorted electric guitar...

Musicians who watched your Facebook video know that it is you playing by watching your left hand vibrato and also the effects are what bring your electric violin to sound like it did playing the classic Time from Pink Floyd which I loved .

So glad I found your channel. Like you, I started playing violin young (5 years old -- yeah, the whole Asian thing), classically trained, blah blah blah, but switched to guitar in high school, and haven't owned a violin since my main violin was stolen in the mid-90's. I fully agree with you about violin players trying to cover guitar solos -- they sound like they're played on a violin. Which is fine, because if one wanted to sound like a guitar, why not just play a guitar? BUT -- there are sounds that are better produced on a violin, and might make the solos even better than the original. Creating sustain effects on a guitar is something takes a lot of effort on a guitar, and it's built-in to the violin! I don't have a Helix, but I already own a Boss GT-100 which is similar -- lots of model simulations already built-in. So I haven't bought an electric violin to get back into the violin world yet, but great to see that people like you are already far along the path to merging the two instruments. Great video!

I'll have to keep some of this in mind whenever I get my 6 string back from the luthier. I was trying to play the 1st solo on iron man and it was definitely a case of playing all the right notes but it still just sounded "wrong".

Brilliantly talented women love how you interpret the electric guitar on guitar why think guitar when you can think saxophone when soloing or piano when your chordal playing on the guitar or violin when playing melody.

This lady is a great talent, and I, like many on this video platform, am quite impressed with her work on that instrument. And it is the instrument I wish to comment on. There have been hybrid instruments before, but when does one stop being what it originally was? To me, this is a seven string, short scale, fretted guitar that is played with a bow. I have not been able to determine string tuning. It is bowed from chin level, and it seems this is the only trait it has in common with the classic violin. American Heritage dictionary defines a violin thus: violin /vī″ə-lĭn′/ noun 1. A stringed instrument played with a bow, having four strings tuned at intervals of a fifth, an unfretted fingerboard, and a shallower body than the viol and capable of great flexibility in range, tone, and dynamics. 2. A small instrument with four strings, played with a bow; a fiddle. Similar: fiddle 3. A musical four-string instrument, generally played with a bow or by plucking the string. Pitch is set by pressing the strings at the appropriate place with the fingers. Note that all three definitions mention four strings, and the first mentions the tuning. What is the consensus here - guitar or violin?
