Thanks for this type of a post as this will help me more and speed up my learning curve. I don’t get a lot of opportunities to fish and so I divide my time between various types and styles of fishing. This will encourage me to dedicate more time to swim bait fishing. Geoff, I wanted to ask you which high speed reel you like best overall between the Monster Drive and the Z200 / Z2020?

So hear me out: Im a musky guy, and im planning on getting a medium heavy st croix (3/4 to 3 oz) paired up with a tranx 300 high speed and spooled with 65lb braid. I been looking at swimbaits a lot recently and i figure id be able to fish swimbaits pretty good on this setup. Which baits (mainly soft baits, but hard also) would you reccomend for big bass but also potentially musky?

I can't understand how an extra heavy rod doesn't lose fish that size on treble hooks. Are you setting the hook in this videos hard or is that just taking up slack in the line and keeping pressure on the fish with a lose drag? Thank you
