I wish he/OGS shared more about how others can interact with him respectfully, or what not to say when you encounter a person with a short stature. Maybe even how they would like to be called, or treated with dignity. If anyone has tips do share!

Hi Matilda, we've asked Joshua and here's his reply: "For behaviour, we would really appreciate people not to stare at us. There are many times, strangers would secretly be taking picture of us without our knowledge. This is really disturbing. Treat us like any other ordinary person. Sometimes, we may not ask others for help because we feel embarrassed, feel free to give us a helping hand when needed." Hope this answers your question :-) Thanks for supporting this video!!

thanks for sharing! I don't have this medical condition, but another one that has made me be of short stature myself (i stand at 140cm). i frequently questioned why i was so very much shorter/smaller than my peers when i was younger (I only found out about my condition late in adulthood). that did help me have at least a physiological answer to something that has essentially been in the forefront of my life. Ultimately, I grew up to generally keep to myself and have a strange quirkiness to my character due to me just generally having a low confidence in my abilities. that being said, i am grateful for an awesome family, and a career that forces me out of my shell and generally have more empathy to those who are either born with or acquire disabilities. We need to be kinder and more patient with each other, and learn not to shy away /dismiss questions raised by children who see people whom are different from them. that's how they learn, and the world will be a much better place for that
