Abdi Yes. Slavery was abolished in 1865 in the United States and in 1888 in Brazil. How do you think how many Africans voluntarily moved to America? I think that none of them. All of them were captured and sold into slavery. Most of the slaves died on the ship from hunger and disease. The rest died of unbearable labor on plantations and mines.
