I actually don’t care if this whole channel doesn’t even mention makeup anymore. I love watching you and Steven and baby O❤️ And of course the doggies. I love the stories the story times and all of that. Don’t rush back into makeup girl don’t even worry about it. How about a story of all of this from Steven’s point of view? How is Steven doing?

Society is so pressed on women “snatching back” post partum. Not all of us have that bounce back ability. We have to as a society accept women where they are and not pressure us to becoming that perfect magazine mom everyone is so obsessed with. Own your transition and let women ride the waves of coming into motherhood! No postpartum experience is linear.

That’s so rude that the nurse rolled her eyes at you and said “it’s normal” when you were SHAKING like that and so scared, like it might be obvious to HER, cause she sees it all the time, but obviously YOU don’t see that all the time, it’s your first time giving birth or seeing someone give birth!

I opted for no epidural. The nurse for my First born was a champ. The nurse for my second in a private hospital told me if you don’t want the pain that is why there is epidural. My mother in law said is it sometimes some repercussions after that. She rolled her eyes and said people all over the world came to us do you think we can tell you to do something if you have repercussions after that.

I actually never wanted to leave a comment because I figured “they aren’t going to read it or care” but I had my twins on the same day you had Ocean so we were pregnant at the same time. I also had a hard time breastfeeding and my babies also lost weight. It was such a break down for me, but knowing that you went through the same thing makes me feel a lot better. This is also my first pregnancy so we are in this together. Your videos have definitely helped me as I am a first time mom as well. I remember on your fertility journey the IVF DR asking you how many eggs you wanted to be implanted and you said having two the first time around is going to be hard....well let me tell you it was a good choice. Having twins is soooooooo hard. So glad you have all the help you need. Stay strong mommy.

Hi! I just read your comment and I’m not a mama BUT I was 6lbs 5oz when I was born; my mom had the same experience with me when I was a baby. She thought that I was latching on and getting enough milk etc. I was her second baby so she thought things were fine and had no idea that in fact I wasn’t feeding correctly and had lost weight. I dropped down to 5lbs or something. Her doc told her to switch to formula (which TBH she was totally ok with!) so she did and it was smooth sailing. I turned out great LOL 😂 and my mama is AMAZING and strong & the BEST MAMA, just like YOU!! 💖

Also, to any new moms watching, FED IS BEST. Period. If anyone tells you different, they’re wrong. I promise you when they go to college, they don’t ask your kids if they were breastfed or formula fed. Motherhood is hard enough, make it easier for yourself where you can ❤️

Girl this was the most REAL postpartum video I’ve ever seen, I mean that in the best way. So many moms will need this, you’re being that person who is breaking the barrier and letting women know what they need postpartum but also letting them know so so many moms go through hardships right after a baby comes. It’s the most amazing time but at the same time a mix of emotions with ups and downs. I’ve been super honest with friends and give them lists on what to get etc. Anyway I just want to say we love you desi! Big hugs! You and Steven are doing amazing!

🤗 BIG HUG!! Its so incredibly HARD to be a mom!! You are VERY lucky you had a supportive husband. We were on the same boat.... I have postpartum depression, anxiety, and OCD. My husband thought/thinks I made it all up and was and still is horrible with me. He absolutely does not understand anything nor can I make him understand. I can't even talk about it because it enrages him. My "best friend" just disappeared so I felt abandoned, lost, and lonely. My only support system was my mom but unfortunately she passed away the day after Christmas. You can imagine how I felt and still feel. I push through for my kids but that first year was HELL to say the least.

The whole time I was pregnant, I told myself I wouldn’t put pressure on myself to breast feed or feel guilty if breast feeding didn’t work out for me, and then my baby was born and I did exactly that. I felt like such a failure but the fact is that he’s healthy and happy and that’s all that matters. Our mental health is so important as moms and although I am still ‘mourning’ over not being able to breast feed, I know I’m still doing my best for my baby. And you are too!! @sheikarose not everyone goes through this. This is dramatic. It IS painful (I didnt get and epidural with any of my kids, THATS painful.. but when you're numbed with an epidural, its so not). The afted care is definitely not a that and going to the bathroom does not hurt.. only with a c section as I did with my last. Your vagina does not hurt afterwards either. Stitches, if you have them feel uncomfortable but is definitely not painful as she describes. You've got to remember some people define discomfort as dramatic pain. It really is NOT all that she is sharing. Do not get scared or anxious about childbirth. Its the most beautiful experience ever and everyone I mean EVERY ONE is different and has a different experience. In my opinion, she is being way to dramatic. Or perhaps maybe she is not, she just may be one that is hugh maintenance and does not do well with discomfort.

Dixie Garza I definitely agree with you. My little one is 2 weeks & 6 days old and he can’t latch on correctly. Every time I had to breastfeed I would go in so confident after watching videos and what not and told myself this is it we are going to latch correctly but @ the end of it I would just end up in tears. I thought it was my fault he couldn’t latch on correctly and that I was letting him down. I wasn’t opposed to formula but it felt like I had failed my son. It took my mother in law like Desi said to say it’s okay if you can’t breastfeed or baby can’t latch. It’s okay to give him formula, he is still going to grow up healthy and strong. At the moment all my mommy guilt went away and I felt relieved to hear someone say it’s okay if you can’t breastfeed. I read so many articles how it’s best to breastfeed to be completely honest those article and support groups only made me feel worst. So it’s refreshing hear someone say hey everything is going to be okay ☺️☺️

Oh girl, same on so many of these. We had the best nurse then right before delivery WORST nurse change. My milk never came in and I was devastated. Our pedi told me to supplement and pump when I could but I never got my milk so could never pump. And body image...someone told me, it takes 9 months for your body to make a baby, it takes 9 months to get your body back. And I found it to be true. Once my daughter turned 1 I felt like I was finally back to “normal”. It’s the most amazing emotional journey. I’ve loved seeing yours, thank you for letting us be a part.

That’s crazy, I didn’t know the trembling was a thing. I had an induced labor on October 24th but I wasn’t planning to take the epidural till my whole lower body was in shakes that I was in more pain from that than the actual contractions. That was the worst feeling but got through it. We women are amazing!
@jenniferaragon9
@jenniferaragon9 3 жыл бұрын
Labor hormones along with side effects from the medicine in the epidural can lead to shivers/shakes. Uncomfortable but normal. There’s medicine that can help counteract the shakes a bit if they get too intense.

@@jenniferaragon9 My legs were trembling before the epidural or anything was given to me, when they put the balloon catheter in me and right after they had taken the balloon out of me. The shakes I got from the epidural were completely different. I think it was just my body’s reaction to preparing for the baby.

When you got to the part about breastfeeding. I actually got emotional and was holding back tears. My son was born exactly 1 month before Ocean. And breastfeeding was one of the hardest parts of postpartum. I never was able to do it. It actually was the main factor of my depression ): still talking about breastfeeding gets me emotional because my baby wasn’t gaining weight either.

It’s a hard thing to go through for sure, but even if you had to use formula, you did what was better for your baby. I’ve had 4 boys. With my oldest had no clue what I was doing, I was 19, I went from a B cup to a DD and no one I knew had any experience with breastfeeding. With my next the baby had such a small mouth he literally couldn’t nurse, the next 2 were 4.5 oz, and 4.8 oz, and needed higher calorie intake so after the first two weeks in the hospital they needed formula too. So I pumped ever few hours, and then added formula and then fed the baby. My youngest was so small, and struggled with latching even on a bottle because he was tongue tied (but not in a normal way that was fixable) so I had to feed him a bottle every 3 hours until he was 6 months old, even in the middle of the night. Ugh.

That's so good that the nurses go with you afterwards to help you. I gave birth in the UK and they were just like "right off you go to the toilet and take a shower!" and I literally passed out in there and they only realised then that I'd lost too much blood whilst being anemic already. Being a first time mum can be scary if you don't have the right care and support

This needs to be on all sorts of media outlets. When I gave birth, being a labor and delivery nurse, postpartum was very hard. No one ever prepares you for the hormonal shifts, self adjusting issues, and new emotions you have to navigate. Everyone focuses on the baby and you might look good, but, sometimes you don’t feel good. Having a GREAT support team makes or breaks your pp journey. And I think a lot of people don’t understand that. I cannot thank enough for opening up and being honest with the vulnerable states you experience during postpartum. You’re doing awesome!

So both my pregnancies I had Csections. I really wanted to push! Lol I used to practice when I was going to the bathroom🤣🤣🤣 while I was pregnant with our son, I seriously would pretend when I was alone in the bathroom using the potty that I was pushing the baby out. They see the best and the worst. The are there. They see things that would give you shivers and sometimes they witness unbelievable miracles. I'm sorry your nurse was having a moment in her head. Maybe she had to deliver a baby that was addicted the night before and was still hurting from that. We will never know. Just wanted to say that nurses are amazing people.
