Am 58 retiring next year but the thought of retirement gives me weakness. My apologies to everyone who have retired and filing social security during this time after putting in all those years of work just to lose everything to a problem you never imagined to happen. It’s so difficult for people who are retired and have no savings or loved ones to fall back on.

Even if you’re not skilled, it is still possible to hire one. I was a project manager and my personal portfolio of approximately $850k of my retirement pension took a big hit in April due to the crash. I quickly got in touch with a financial-planner that devised a defensive strategy to protect my funds and make profit from my portfolio this red season. I’ve made over $250k since then.

It's estimated that Americans will need more than $1 million to retire comfortably, but I found most of us aren’t bullish about meeting that goal. I’ve been sitting on over $750K equity from a home sale and I want to invest on the stock market, how do I achieve this?

American workers are losing ground on retirement readiness and increasing the risk of outliving their assets, we all need to do more to help improve the savings and retirement security. If you're not who understands strategies to invest in the market, seek a Financial advisor to guide you.

What you don't realize and I know because I retired at 28 (as a multi-millionaire) and I am 41 now, is that eventually you get bored and want to work again. I have been to 59 countries, been back to 20% of them multiple times, did everything I wanted.. Now I am just bored, looking to work to feel needed, not for the money, that people will call me, that I am adding value to people that I feel part of something.. You have been retired for a short time.. but you will see..

Everyone's situation is different. I am seeing lots of older people, like 70+ doing Uber and food delivery. It is so crazy to see many older people still having to work just to buy food, pay rent and majorly to meet their basic needs.. Dont want that to be me! I'm so concerned that the rising inflation may lead my entire $982k retirement funds to lose value. Where else could we put our cash?

I've come to realize that the key to amassing wealth lies in making sound investments. I purchased my first home at the age of 21 for $87,000 and sold it for $197,000. My second home, acquired for $170,000, was later sold for $320,000, and my third property, purchased at $300,000, fetched $589,000, with buyers covering all closing costs and expenses. Not reaching a million before retirement feels like an unfulfilled goal.-

People grappling with the difficulty of meeting essential expenses often encounter this situation due to inadequate savings during their working years. The decisions taken in readiness for retirement carry extensive consequences, as demonstrated within my own family dynamics. Differing investment approaches yielded disparate results. Guided by a financial advisor, I'm currently retired.
@james.atkins88

Indeed, that's accurate. I'm currently in my mid-50s. My wife and I were on a similar path until a couple of years ago when I decided to shift my investments to her wealth manager. While I haven't quite caught up to her accumulated profits over the years, I'm at least earning more now. I'm generating income even before retirement, and my retirement fund has experienced remarkable growth compared to what it would have with just the 401(k). It's quite amusing.

It's regrettable that many individuals lack access to such insights. I understand why people might become anxious. Insufficient information can indeed pose significant challenges. Personally, I've been able to generate over $25k passively simply by investing through an advisor, and the best part is, I don't need to exert much effort. Regardless of economic fluctuations, skilled wealth managers consistently deliver returns.

That friend is not only the best in class but in school, learning math stuff already from his older brother, also winning math competitions - very efficient, very productive. But one day, I think, he will be just as frustrated as you - having enough money to retire early BUT ...................... missing life that never comes back - friendships, family life, hobbies, parties, travelling, video games with friends, sports teams, girls, nature & sun, .... - a meaningful life to enjoy.

I was a little depressed lately because my self esteem has taken a hit for being a stay at home parent for this long. I was contemplating getting back to the software industry again, because with very young kids, there's no opportunity to travel, and outside of recreational hobbies, I don't have other serious interests. So getting back to software is my only option. But thanks to this video, I'll hold off on that for a while.

I'm so happy for you, I'm glad you found a way to live in a present moment, it's always so scary to allow yourself to do that, but it always pays out in the long run, because life is not money or digits, life is our experiences!

Great advice. 50yrs old, block of land in the country, work (help out friends) a day or two a week if I feel like it, one of my favourite tasks is collecting manure for the garden. Just me and the land collecting gold for the future. Simple. But, without the land I would have to run on that hamster wheel, rent is a killer.

For a former tech lead who is supposed to be super smart, you would think blud would have outsourced his video and editing work out so he could the most of the 2 squandered vacation days. Also, what's the point of this particular video, seems like a rehash of previous content rather than any genuine epiphany on his end. And how much fun is it to carry around a selfie stick and camera to record footage for the purpose of making yet another youtube video. I'm pretty sure that takes away from being able to devote 100% of his attention and senses to basking in the glory of the fruits of his labor and fully enjoying it.

You must gain control over your money or lack of it will forever control you, if you want to be financially free, you have to be a different person than you're today and let go of whatever has held you back.

All this talk about traveling, but just think about it. You're spending so much money on changing the coordinates of your location in space, the temperature of air around you, and the picture before your eyes. Is this productive?

@@afiasheikh416 I get that but how do you stay content with being alone. I know that the fantasy we are chasing is not out there. We have this belief that we going to be successful and then we will have all the pleasures we missed out on when we were working hard, but we end up not doing anything because we know it's a lie. And nothing can give us pleasure continuously. We will suffer unless we follow a coherent philosophy of life. It is that we are programmed to find companionship and it's a constant battle everyday to keep this feeling at it's bay. My question is can we get rid of this feeling completely? Can we completely overcome the need to be in company of somebody to feel content and happy?

Very well said!!! I wish all of us could find - or afford - the perfect balance in life, but when you can, go for it!!! Enjoy your travels. Maybe sometime in the future you can visit my hometown (Kalamata, Greece) and enjoy fresh food, the surrounding natural beauty and most of all your ability to be in a non-touristy place for much less than you would spend in Santorini :)
