Happy New Year Darren. Let's hope this year is better than the last two. That YoYo would look even better anodised and coloured - never done anodising myself, but it looks pretty straightforward on KZfaq videos.

Cheers man, and to you and yours. And am sure it will be if we make it so. Yeah it would be minted like that, never really thought about it need to take a look in to that sort of things. Take it easy man.

Amazing video my man! I'd be safer about that lathe though like no gloves. Even a tiny lathe is no joke. Too many people have been reduced to a mist at worst and mangled hands at best.

Glad you enjoyed the video and I appreciate your concern. I rarely ever wear gloves whilst using the lathe or mill, if I do there’s alway a reason. I think if I remember it wasn’t making nice chips when turn but big lengths and it would catch and hit my hands, like little razor blades. Check out my other videos am sure there’s something you’ll enjoy.

Good job. Learn to think ahead though - should have drilled the pilot hole for the threads before ever taking the part out of the chuck!

@@Darren_Barclay No worries! You'll be learning for the rest of your life, as am I. The other thing I noticed that I would caution you about - that was a very long piece of stock you were turning. You were smart to use the tail stock, but especially with these small hobby lathes, rigidity is everything - and if that got knocked out of the chuck because a tool dug in (believe me, it can and will happen) - it might have been ugly. Far better to have cut a piece thick enough to fit all the way in the chuck jaws plus a little wiggle room plus the size of the piece you need that needs outside turning - and leave it at that. Much safer, and better results.

Yeah sorry about that man, I usually do turn it down as I know it’s loud with my phone right it at, I just neglected to down the volume when editing my bad man. Thanks for watching though.
