This video is a little bit different from my usual, but has been requested a bunch over on my instagram so I finally put it together!
I talk about how I made it to the NBA...(as a graphic designer 🎨) and I also give my top 5 tips for making it or progressing in the sports design industry.
This is mainly targeted at freelancers in the sports design world, as thats all I know, but hopefully theres some broader advice that can apply and be helpful yo all kinds of designers.

Amazing video, and I love your work! This was very helpful as I'm looking to get into sports design as well, but there's a burning question that I have regarding the sourcing of images of athletes. With using images from the web, are there copyright issues with not just the organizations related to the work but also the original creators of the images? I've been doing some research on copyright and fair use as it pertains to the production of art with images that aren't your own because I don't want to get into any legal trouble, but I'm still not sure. Thanks!

Excellent video! One piece of advice I can give is not to have just one income. I mean not depending only on making designs for companies but also selling resources, posters, psd, etc. It is just an example. Thanks.

In regards to the Finance, we have "Roth IRAs" that can be set up in the US where you can invest $5,500 a year and once you retire its tax free when you withdraw. So that would compare to what you are talking about :)

Amazing video!! One question I have is, are there any copyright issues or do teams get upset if you create graphics of their team even though you don’t work for them? I want to create graphics, I just don’t know if it’s okay to post publicly without the team or company’s permission? Thank you!!

Thank you! For the most part I dont think teams mind too much. But thats only if you're posting to your instagram or portfolio, if you start trying to sell prints and stuff you could definitely run into some trouble!
