I am BACK on my Mass Effect bullshit thanks to the recent announcement of the Mass Effect Legendary Edition and wanted to share with you all a walkthrough of how I made my Commander Shepard cosplay/armor.

This week I would have been headed to Katsucon, but sadly due to the pandemic it’s been cancelled. I made my Commander Shepard cosplay for Katsucon in 2020 and felt it was fitting to finally talk about how I made it.
I had a lot of struggles and challenges with this cosplay and was overwhelmed almost the entire time, but I’m so happy with how it turned out. FemShep and the Mass Effect franchise are incredibly important to me so it means a lot that I can bring this character to life. Have you played any of the Mass Effect games before? Or will the Legendary Edition be your first go at it?

finished ME 1 years ago then started 2 but never finished. but when ME 3 launched i played a bit and didn't know what was happening and gave up LOL. Waiting for the Legendary edition for a real experience. also the last bit of this video was hilarious XD

OMG, playing ME3 without finishing 2 I can imagine you’d be confused as heck lolol. There’s actually a DLC called “Arrival” that links directly into ME3 and imo should have been in the base game cause it IS confusing lolol

The ME2 armor was the first cosplay armor I ever made. I'm now going to re-do it from a 3D print file.

For the gloves part I was thinking of using a pair of tactical gloves with similar looking sewn in rubber plating and painting the red and white strip on the plating of the right hand Also this cosplay looks amazing

Great tutorial. If I had seen this sooner I might not have spent fifteen dollars on a pattern that is too small for me and now just doing the mockup to do the grading will take so much time it won't be ready in time for Halloween so (unless something miraculous happens) I'm going to be going as someone else

aw man, I'm sorry to hear that :( could you maybe go as a casual Shepard? but good luck to you on your eventual armor build! It might be a lil' late for you but I'm making Liara's ME3 armor (that's similar to the ME2 armor) late this year/early next for more tutorials on it :)

@@vaultfox A part of me is considering Alliance fatigues, if I get my hands on the right fabrics and closures and manage my time well. I will admit that one of the benefits of working with fabric rather than foam is that fabric can be held together with basting stitches and safety pins and if done right nobody will be the wiser!

Are there every any cosplays that you have done where you've thought about going back and 3D printing more of the armor pieces?

Actually, with my S7 Bo Katan I’ve thought about going back and printing that armor again. I was about to but then she showed up in Mando lol

I'm currently building an n7 armor set with my 3d printer and was wondering how to get the elbow piece to connect with both forearm and bicep pieces. turns out the elbow piece isn't attached to the bicep piece and only moves with the forearm based on ME3 footage. Still, your armor build looks amazing.

My very first mass effect game was unfortunately the worst one but I still love it it was mass effect Andromeda and I hope one day we get a sequel to the game although I won’t hold my breath

Oof, I’m sorry :( I got let down pretty hard with Andromeda but I do hear with all of the updates and stuff it’s really not that bad. But hey, as long as you enjoy it that’s what matters!

@@vaultfox you know what that means, Im going to love the other 3 games if i loved Andromeda... as im typing this I just found out that the collectors edition version of Andromeda didn't come with the game
