Open up the spout that it pours out of when you are pushing the grinds to the bottom and that will allow the pressure to escape. :)

Well done video Stephanie. I've been doing cold brew for a while and got one of these last week to try it out before buying a few as Christmas gifts. 2-3 things that you can do to really up the game is 1) I used to do 24 hrs in the fridge, but when I experimented with 40-48 hours that became my preferred brew time. 2) Get a grinder and grind right before brewing. If you brew much, something like a Baratza Encore is a worthwhile tool. 3) If you have a local roaster, buy beans there. It's head and shoulders above Starbucks or any other grocery store coffee that was grown wherever and bulk roasted who knows how long ago. You can try different varieties from around the world. Most Guatemalan varieties make a great cold brew.

Your cold brew looks so good! Btw I've had my Bodum for a long time and I used to (still do) push the plunger like you. However last year a recall was hit on the plunger and people had unfortunate things happen to their palms so please use a kitchen mitten so if anything your palms will be ok 🙂 because I still push down like that lol but it's so much easier with the kitchen mitt

I have used French Press for hot & cold coffee & the whole idea of the lid with the straIner it’s NOT TO FORCE OR PUSNH IT down. As the coffee is brewing & getting stronger the “ strainer” slowly gets down,making very flavorful natural & strong,Clear coffee
@dahbaldguy Жыл бұрын
No don't push it down like that. You push it down until you feel alittle bit of pressure then stop. Start pouring and the pressure of the coffee dispensing will push it down by it self. The filter will push down the grounds by itself

Fun Fact: I also use Pike Place as my main coffee, for drip AND - if you have a good espresso maker, you won't believe how good it tastes as espresso. I think most ppl don't grind it for espresso, and it's very rich and delicious.

@stephaniehunt45092 жыл бұрын
@@DaughterOfMaat I’m excited for you! I believe the grounds are supposed to be left in the cold brew maker after being pushed down until all of the cold brew is consumed, at least that’s how I do it. I’m not sure how you would get the grounds out without them getting back into the cold brew 😊

Awesome!! Cold brew is definitely the way to go!! Saving tons of money by not spending 7$ on a cup of coffee that you don’t really know what’s inside of it from a typical coffee place. A much fuller taste as well and you can put good healthy ingredients in the coffee. Instead of syrupy sugar eww

So I’ve had mine for about 2 years now; and I am just now realizing that when I drink my iced coffee, I suddenly get these awful migraines. I read that cold brew has anywhere from 200-400 mg coffee which is WAYYY more then hot or French press. So that’s gotta be the reason. Anyone else have these issues? I’ve never had migraines before, but it’s just something I’ve noticed.. I do tend to drink like a 20oz one in the morning; so it’s usually the second cup I have in the afternoon… 🥴 I love coffee 😅

You definitely can make it in a french press, I’ve done it that way for awhile but recently got the Bodum cold press so I don’t have to make it so often, a lot more convenient because you can only get about one 30oz. Yeti mug filled with ice out of the French press because it’s a lot smaller. Love this cold brewer 😊
