I'd like to share a step-by-step process and technique of how I make my paper artworks from a single sheet of A4 paper.
As an example, I am using one of my templates:

✨ How I make my videos
All my videos are edited using the iMovie app. I film my videos with my iPhone camera. I have a very soft voice, which makes it difficult to record, so I’m using text-to-speech software for my voiceovers. I use royalty-free music for my background sound.

Thanks for the thoughtful process video. I had a question about your approach to designing an image in order to be able to successfully cut it out. I figure out that you can't have any floating (i.e. unattached) pieces, but do you have a process that more or less guarantees your design will "work" once it's cut or is it trial and error as you develop the image? Thanks.

I'm happy to hear you found this video helpful! ❤ I'd say it's more a question of practice rather than of a method. But there are a definitely few points that help to get a better papercut result. If you have very big cuts crossing the whole page - you should ideally divide it into multiple small pieces/parts, so there are always pieces of paper holding the cut together. Imagine cutting a border frame around your artwork. Instead of cutting a straight line, think about introducing some interconnected pattern. For instance, some floral patterns, leaf branches, decorative geometrical elements, etc. That way there will be fewer "empty" areas (more paper = more stability). The more paper you have around the cut - the easier it is to cut, and there is less chance to drag the paper around. I usually make a detailed sketch of my papercut before starting to cut it, so I know that all my elements are well-balanced, and there are not that many empty (or not well-connected) areas. I am currently working on a more complex papercut video, and I will make sure to include an explanation about why and how I design my papercuts in a certain manner.
