Many times i need to set my vice at some angle, but doing it direct on a table is It is a difficult and imprecise process.
So i start thinking how to make someetking like rottary table and heave degree scale on it.
I make is as simply as possible, but the gadget is tottaly worked and i'm happy with it.
You just need to use some common sense not to overreact with load on it.

Really beautiful parts, and a useful accessory, well done! It's great to see another person making their own tools. :)

I will make the same. Very simple! Tip 1: engrave a vernier scale on the upper plate so you can set 1/10 of degree. Tip 2: Instad of the vise mount, attach the accessory direct on the mill table! The simpler, the more accurate.

Nice rotary plate, but have to agree with the comments on the end mill in the chuck. Thanks for showing us.

What about a mini endmill with tiny passes ? I use to put my 4/6mm 3 fluted endmill in my chuck, and to take 0.1mm passes. Is it okay ? Can we consider the load minimal and not bad for the chuck ?

ahh vern many out there who whine about that..least you forget how it was done..war effort 40s make a bushing for said drill add a collum to spindle soupport check old popular mechanics 1930s in up to 60s you will find them and being a machinist 45 years plus think am ahead of you

It looks beautiful job, I am just wondering if you test it with “level dial indicator” to see how accurate is with so many attachments. Anyway, tomorrow I will go to a local machinist for cutting two round plates like this and I will make the same. “Keep Turning” make more chips.

Very nicely done and well finished. Have you considered putting a vernier scale on the top plate? It would greatly increase your accuracy ability! Good job.

Pity about that. The rotary table is a very useful tool. I wouldn't be without mine. I'm going to engrave a degree scale on my round drill press table and that will have a vernier on it! It won't get used a lot but there are plenty of times I wish I had done it! Maybe you could sell your table to a friend. I'm sure it would be very useful to someone who did n't want a rotary table.

Stefan Stamatov booth are chineese, you can find the same (identical) tool in meny different brand, like grizzly (usa) or optimum(EU) or Bernardo.at (at)... But all came frome same chineese factory Just different colour and different stickers for different "brand" My lathe is ERBA and mill is PK TOOLS brand. and im happy with it Just need some fine setup.

I tell you wrong mine is px-25lv mill, it is tottaly the same as vf25L (L mean long table) just that vf25L is blue and mine is red, as i say lot of brand offer this mill but it all the same, just different stickers, colour... Only different on my mill, i don't notice on no other else is konus, all i see until now had MK2 konus, mine had MK3 konus, so i can fit 20mm collet into it, and had electric support by X axis (you can buy it separatly) I got extrem luck when i buy i got used one (used half hour) and got it with some tools (all collet electric support vice...) for 1000e. only fail in this machine is plastic gears. i broke it preaty fast so i open the machine, clean it, change all the chinese bearings with SKF and put in the new gears from ebay.de (some guy make it from pertinax for that machine, just put in and go, machine is realy great, specialy now when i got dro on all 4 axis. I planning to change a motor for 3phase, i use one graphite brush in a year, realy love work on it...

Wouldn’t it be better to use a collet instead of a chuck to hold your end mill?

true, but chuck is much faster, and work good for small forces.

Great little hobby table. You’re right in that cutting would not be aggressive with it but doable for what your probably using it for.
@TinC33
@TinC33 5 жыл бұрын
Thanks, yes this think is work just perfect if i use to cut some angle simply use that table insteed of turn main vice, and than sett and calibrate to parallel again, that's much much faster, but for cutting some radius i also bought a rottary table, review/first test video you can see on my channel "soba rotary table"

I’ve done it many times for quick machining where accuracy isn’t of huge concern. I.e; where we need to machine a flat in round rod. For some actions it isn’t a big deal. Never had an issue ever with it although I’d never try and machine a full part like that.

An endmill in a drill chuck big no no. Drill chucks are not designed for side forces, only vertical forces. I would not trust that chuck to drill on size.
