The fees are a little annoying but you are right about deals. I turned to Buyee to work on my Shinee Japanese collection, both albums and cards. It is a great place to find limited editions and OOP albums, and I’ve gotten great non-album official merch deals for my ult bias too!

Hey! I buy from Buyee as well and they are legit! When they are fanmade it will state that. You can click on description and then you can choose the language you want it to translate to and see what it says when you are skeptical about it, but so far everything I bought are the official photocards!

do you think with the addition of all fees, using proxy sites like this is a better option then finding cards on social media/ebay. because i tend to find cards a lot easier on proxy sites but the prices always throw me off but i get so tempted because i cant find the cards anywhere else

Ebay is a huge rip off, I paid $20 for a Karina lenticular pc before I found out about proxy websites. Mercai Japan, they were selling the same pc for $6... of course fees and shipping, it's gonna cost a bit more than $6 but if you buy a bulk of pcs/albums then its worth the money.

I feel there's so many hidden costs here!! Doesn't it just come up to how much you would normally buy a photocard for? Also what's the final price with all the extra costs (i.e. shipping and stuff)?

Well it really depends if you're buying a set of photocards or only a one card. If it's not something rare, it's usually not worth buying only one pc on buyee. Personally, I feel like there are many better proxy services than Buyee (such as Japonica or Neokyo). Regarding Buyee, you have to pay 500 service fee. When you buy more than one item, you pay a consolidation fee (for putting 2 items into one box - +500 yen, if more than two then it's around 1000 yen). The shipping depends on where you live, what method you choose or how much does your package weight. For a bunch of photocards, the shipping goes around 1300 yen.

I wasn’t careful about the fees + packaging + shipping and I paid like $50 for a photocard. I live in the U.S. You really need to be careful and choose basically no protection.

It really depends on if your county charges customs or not. Buyee doesn't let you change the value of your package so take that into account.

In my experience, most times yes, they'll pay for the domestic shipping (from them to Buyee's warehouse). But sometimes the seller doesn't provide tracked shipping so you'll end up paying a few hundred yens, because Buyee doesn't allow selles to send things without tracking

Buyee are scamming customers on their "protective packaging" service. They will charge you the fee but not doing anything. This has happened many times to me. I requested a set of photos before adding protective packaging, and another set of photos after adding. They are exactly the same!! No change of weight at all!! On their freight, they overcharge for shipping. Buyers beware.
