Sharing my experience for www.stopholdingback.org/
I've stuttered badly for most of my life. My speech therapist told me that very little is known about what causes stuttering, but at the same time also said with great certainty I wouldn't be able to get rid of it completely and the best would be to live with it. I can't say I never trip up on a word anymore, but would you be able to tell if I hadn't told you so?
Accepting and loving oneself is the most important, with or without a stutter. If you have a stutter, I hope you'll take my message not as pressure to stop stuttering now, but as support to believe in yourself. Don't let other people tell you what you can or cannot be. You be you.

Practice & conviction. My practice consisted of going to lots and lots of events and meetups and having the same conversations over and over: Hi, I'm [....]. Where are you from? That's so nice! I focused on practicing speaking itself - saying frequently occurring sentences fluently, timing when to start speaking, etc. Rather than focusing on the content of what I was saying, which is what most of us focus on when we speak, and which I could focus on After being able to speak more fluently. Conviction is equally important, because what works for one person might not work for the other and in order to keep going you have to have conviction there is A way for you. I'll talk about it more in a next video this week.
