Hi, great video ! Do you recommend studying for XK0-005 now, it looks like XK0-004 will be retired next month ! Are you planning to take XK0-005 ?
@KoromaTech Жыл бұрын
Hey, I say study for the XK0-005, and I’m not sure I’m going to take the XK0-005. I have other certs I want to take. The XK0-004 was meant to introduce me to Linux, and it did a fantastic job. 😊

I passed my network+ 2 weeks ago after studying for 3 months . How long u think Linux+ is gonna take me ? I’m thinking of going for Ccna but I want to learn Linux+ first . What’s ur advice?
@KoromaTech3 жыл бұрын
Hi Serge, congratulations on passing your exam. If you are already familiar with Linux, then it will probably take you about 1-2 months to study for the exam, but if you’re not, then it will probably take you the same amount it took for your Net+ depending on how hard you study for it. Maybe even more. It took me 3.5 months to study for the exam. I’m planning to go for the CCN by the end of this year too, so you’re doing exactly what I did, but keep in mind that I have a reason for doing this, so make sure the certificates you’re getting aligned with your career goals. I hope this helps.

Yes, absolutely. Especially if you need a good starting point.

Hello I want to become a pen tester, what order should I do my comptia courses in
@KoromaTech Жыл бұрын
Hey Anthony, becoming a pentester is a long journey. Taking the certification can help, but you have to put in a lot of work along the way. It’s not just about the certification.
@johntiles Жыл бұрын
@@KoromaTech thank you very much for the reply, do you have a suggestion in the order in which I should do the certs
@KoromaTech Жыл бұрын
Hey Anthony, start with the basic certs A+ and Network+ if you need the fundamentals. Security+ and Linux+ to help you understand Linux and security fundamentals. Then you can start moving to pentest certs. CEH or Pentest+ for introduction to Pentest, and some eLearnSecurity certs for hands on. Then you can go for the big boy…OSCP. Adding certs like CISSP will also help.

what labs are you talking about my dude?
@KoromaTech3 жыл бұрын
Hi Marcus, ITProTv has Linux labs. You can also build a Linux VM to practice some of the commands, or you can go to the website linuxjourney.com to practice. All links in the description.

hello koroma, i have been a linux user for a while now cuz i couldn't afford softwares would you recommend linux + as my first cert or go with network+ do i need to know anything about other comptia certs before this and how hard was the test for you?
@KoromaTech3 жыл бұрын
Hi, I think going for the Linux + will be beneficial since you are already familiar with it. This will make things a little easy for you, and you can get that first cert out of the way. The Network+ is a great cert, but I will say go for the CCNA. It covers most of the topics on the Network+, and it goes a little further. It is vendor-specific, but it does a great job of covering the stuff that you get with the Net+. I hope this helps :)

@@averageChoom Hi, Sorry for the late response on this. The Linux Portable command guide book will be a great revision. It helped me a lot. Make sure you go through the whole thing. Also, pay attention to scripting. Understand the basics.
