Hello, I need to take the Praxis world language French. I'm not American and live out of U.S. There are some Prometric centers where I live but they don't deliver the French subject according to ETS search page. However, it's available online but is it required to be in the U.S or Canada to take praxis online at home?

@@MissHopeLeaves I used the list of authors in the red study guide book that she showed, but in my opinion it was not a very good guide. First of all it's very long and most of it was not on my test, and even authors that I did study wouldn't paired with works that were not listed in the red guide. There are only a few questions I would say two or three that ask point blank for you to match an author to a work. I went through the list and watched youtube videos that summed up the plot, themes, and analysis of the works I was unfamiliar with, which was a huge undertaking considering that there was apracimenty 60-70 works it was not worth it. There are far more questions that ask you to read an excerpt from a famous author that uses difficult language and then asks you a question to test comprehension, or about its genre or use how it uses its language. Knowledge about general comprehension, figurative language, context, genre, tone, and style was the majority of the reading section, but just as a disclaimer I read a lot of classic literature and actually go see a lot of live theater, so I was already familiar with about 1/4 of works on the recommended list, and might not remember some of the questions if I didn't have to think about them too hard, but still remember there being a lot. remember that the reading section is only 1/3 of the test as well, the other sections are grammar and writing. The writing section with where you get a lot of questions about teaching strategies. There are a few questions about teaching students that have english as a second language, and while you can answer these by making a good judgement call on what's appropriate, be aware so you don't get blindsided. Also as far as teaching strategies that i've mentioned, you can deduce most of them by picking what seems like the appropriate actions, but it's good to some specific terms: KWL Chart - Know, Want to Know, Learned chart used in prewriting. Jigsaw Method - Breaking kids into groups and assigning them different parts of a lessons, and then having them share. Reciprocal Learning - Having kids pair up and coach each other. Writing Workshop - teaching the lesson, having them work individually on writing, then sharing as a class. Writing process = Prewriting, writing, revising, edieting, presenting. accountability - how do you encourage students to follow through with work. discipline based inquiry - having students do work based on their interests, or directly practical to them.

Thank you for sharing this. I agree the real test is more difficult I have failed it for the fourth or fifth time. If it is possible can you please share your multiple choice test strategies that helped you score a 185. It sucks when you fail and they only let you know what percentage you got right not the actual questions so you know where you are struggling. I am desperate at this point.

hi! yes, they did. they let me use a mirror instead of my phone and then watched me as i placed my phone in view on a table behind me.

honestly, most of them just covered authors rather than actual content on my exam at least. if you have a general idea of classic literature and who wrote what, you'll be fine!
