Yay! Welcome back to another video. I'm so excited about this overall project, and I'm excited to take you along for the journey. Just think how exciting it will be a year from now to see all of this in place. What do you most hope to accomplish by the end of this year? Do you want to try to get ahead with me? Let me know in the comments!

After your Kikki-K haul video, I ordered a bunch of stuff and I'm still waiting for it to arrive. Since then, I've been sifting and sorting through things to accomplish. By the end of the year, I know I'll have a draft of my WiP ready for an editor and I'll have all of the Hiragana memorized. I've had to push my trip to Japan off into 2021 so learning some Japanese is my way of turning that frown upside down. You're way more organized and productive than I've been but I'm getting better at figuring things out. Thanks for these videos.

If you are looking for a great way to integrate an assistant I would recommend a cloud editor like Canva or Lucidpress (my favorite) so you can work together on pictures / printouts / PDFs! I love it and use it with my teams

I'm late to this video so maybe you already figured out how to get videos transcribed into blog posts. But just in case, a friend told me about Descript.com and how it'll accept both video and audio formats and transcribe them into text, including punctuation, with fairly good results. I'm still looking into it but it seems like that would make things easier for you-have an assistant upload your video for Descript to automatically transcribe, proofread its results, add headers and such, and then the blog post is done! They wouldn't have to listen and type on top of the blog work which would save them a lot of time.

"Extremely multi-passionate." Yes. This so much. And I am so guilty of underestimating how long it takes me to do something and overestimating how much I can get done in a single day or week. Thank you for this video.

This was a really beautiful video, Sara, and multi-passionate is so exactly the way I feel! I think I will make my three goals (1) write and publish my current novella (2) maintain my KZfaq channel and (3) declutter my house BIG TIME! It’s so tempting to try to shoehorn in a 4th, but I think 3 is the right number. Can’t get too greedy!

I used to feel overwhelmed all the time until the things I did weren't fun anymore. I found out that my need to push push push were based on not feeling good enough and some story I was telling myself about when I was allowed to feel good. It turned out that my goals were not feasible and decided to only do things that were joyful for a while. It taught me a lot! If I now feel that writing is not going to happen because I don't feel good, I choose something that does feel good. Although my book is going slower this way, I'm feeling much happier.

31:41 Thank you!!! You just used "Like I said" the way I always mean it. I repeat myself, and it's hereditary, apparently, because everyone in the family does it. (I must have heard my grandfather's possum hunting story three times if I heard it once, at least, but I listened and tried to pretend it was funny because that's how you showed respect to your elders.) But I got sassed the other day for using the expression. It was deemed "offensive" and apparently insinuated that the person I was talking to didn't understand the comment I was repeating (with the intention of adding more information that might be helpful). It's just a phrase I use ALL the time, even when talking to myself (next time, I'll try to remember to ask myself how I feel about that), and it just shows that I'm aware that I said it before (bonus points for remembering stuff). I found it ridiculously ironic that the person misunderstood my intention and was offended that I might think she didn't understand. Still trying to wrap my head around that one.... Add one more person I am not allowed to talk to.... :-|

YES! I'm multi passionate too and it can feel overwhelming at times for sure. Also..may I suggest (since you use and love Google Drive) that you create your checklists for your processes in GoogleKeep -- you can check things off and then just go down to the bottom and say "Uncheck all items" and then start again. I use it for various flows that I have (social media/blog and some stuff for my clients as well).

This video is incredibly generous. I find myself exactly in the same place. I'm stepping away from the exhausting (for me) hamster wheel of write more books, write more books, to doing more with what I have. In my case, writing more books has not been the be all end all. I need systems and planning. And getting ahead to get more done. Thanks again, Sarra for continuing to inspire me!

Despite the utter derailment of The Virus, I’m still on track to publish my second book this year... which my pre-HB90 self would NEVER would have managed. I’m so looking forward to seeing how you go on with this project- more please! 🦄

I just finished reading the Snowflake Plotting book about the snowflake story development process. Basically, you start with one small thing - like a one-sentence summary of your story and build things up sort of like a snowball running down the hill. The way you go from a list of things to fleshing them out on a dedicated page is very similar to the process of expanding ideas to help you drill down into the nitty-gritty.

I feel like I’m battling the constant state of “I have so much to do that I need a nap.” So this video was definitely needed. Also congrats on updating your intro from author of 25 to 26 novels! Do you have a standard time each video takes? Like, do you know that a 30 minute video with all of your planner supplies would take you ~X hours to film? Or that if you have to reshoot a video it takes about ~X hours to re-film, based on the length of the video? If you don’t have one, I’d be curious to see you try and set a baseline for how long it would take you to film what you feel is a standard video and then use it as your budget for all your videos of a similar style. Then if you come in under, hooray! If you come in over on the standard shoot you could see where your workflow slowed down? Idk. It sounds very elementary as I type it out but we use budgets at the accounting firm I work at all the time so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@HeartBreathings

Yes that's the reason I'll be doing the time tracking! I need to get averages!
@brittney3165
@brittney3165 4 жыл бұрын
Heart Breathings - ah! I wasn’t sure if you were just using to compare week to week or not. My bad if I missed it in your video. I wonder if instead of getting an average, you use your longest reasonable time to get a video. If you pull from your video list, the one you think will take the longest to film, use that as your budget for the next quarter/ 6 months. Then, you’re “padding” your schedule and trying to allow for any wonky stuffs. In six months if you’ve been consistently going under budget then you can try and reduce your standard time from X hours to X-1 hours. An alternative to a period of tracking diligently and Then averaging!

I think what would help you is instead of doing so many task lists is take a list that has 24 hours on it and figure out how much time you have for each task. You have to fit your day into 24hours. The dream life you want is still a 24hour day. That's all anyone has. Your wish list can easy grow unrealistic. Put your life into your 24hours then do a weekly spread for tasks you want to change from day to day. That's it. That's all you have time for. Anything else needs cut or delegated.

There's an awesome website called Process Street that let's you make process checklists/steps/workflows and invite a team to it!
