Construction jobs are always bid at full package journeyman rate. As a union ironworking journeyman i make $45 an hour but my total package is $63 an hour. All jobs bid through a union contractor are bid at total package wage. If this guy is running a legit contractiong company he is hiring labourers through the union and he is definitely paying them well. Some people have worked for or heard of one terrible contractor in the independant market and swear on their life that every contractor on earth is hiring mexicana for a $0.12 an hour...

@@stevenrodriguez895 im 73yo and grew up in a working class family. Unfortynately i moved from the house where I acted as my own general contractor putting in a 2 car carport with a skirt going into a shell driveway. Cost me a few thousand with 4 laborers who knew what they were doing. More recently installed a 400 sq ft faux stone patio with 2 laborers one who helped me do the grunt work of prepping the land and another who knew how to cut the stone at my curved edges. I furnished all the tools. Presently I'm redoing 2 baths and a kitchen with a $20,000 budget and a handyman with occasional calls for a licensed plumber and electrician. I buy project books and watch dozens of youtube videos and research products and have my own extensive collection of tools. Its time consuming and I make mistakes. Their skills and experience will pay dividends in the long run, especially with the quality of work and helping to train good new employees quicker and better. Employees can be the single greatest asset to a company when trained and paid right. Skimp on workers and you will also find out that they are your greatest liability. sounds about right, prices vary from place to place for instance this guy priced his concrete at negative if he was in my hometown (Toronto) we have 4 meter minimum cheapest $175/meter plus environmental fee's and tip to the driver if you do that which I do. Also Labor fee's vary, in Toronto Journeymen concrete finishers make $44/hour we just got raises a week or two ago and that's just union pay, most top level finishers make above $50/hr, good luck trying to get us though our standard rate to come do a residential job is $500/day

I have heard similar stories from the folks that renovated my 90year old house in Romania. They told me that they have heard all kinds of stories working for years in construction. The most insane thing I have heard was where some construction crew was building houses with cellars, laying out all the necessary and mandatory rebar, all by the book. Then the construction site boss and engineer came to check on it, it was spot on, no mistakes then the two fellas left because everything was according to the book. Only thing left to do was to wait for the concrete trucks to arrive. Well in that time gap of not more than 30mins is where the magic happened. The entire crew was in on it. The motherfuckers disassembled the entire rebar skeleton before the concrete trucks arrived and used it on another house, basically getting rich off of one set of rebar for a copy paste house. This shit left me flabbergasted, out right criminals. Structural integrity went down the drain and it was all according to the books...

some of the people in the comments are buggin. for anyone confused, if 4 guys work a 10 and a half hour day, or if 2 guys put 21 hours each total at a job, then that's considered 42 man hours on that job. most likely 2 guys did this and he paid each $21, which is pretty decent for an unskilled labor, but not good for an experienced mason/ concrete worker. depending on the size and shape of the pour, plus excavation and setting forms and whatever else, 7 grand could be a great deal, or highway robbery. it's impossible to know unless you had pictures and dimensions and a firm grasp on what it actually takes to pour a driveway the more ya know 💫
