How I quarantine my fish tank transfer method plus observation

This video was shot over several weeks. I'm not overly happy with the quality of the video but I did invest a lot of time making it so I'm putting it out there. Especially because I see some really established youtubers just throwing fish in their tanks direct from the store, or doing something silly like dripping for ours then adding direct to dt.
I have been a big fan of the tank transfer method for some time and I have been using prazipro even longer. If you've got room in your house for a 100 gallon aquarium (or even a 50) you have room for a couple of small qt tanks.
There are lots of different ways you can qt fish. I admit what I'm doing is not perfect nor do I think it's the only way to do things, but it works for me and I try and explain why. My fish do spend longer then some in quarantine but they only are exposed to copper if necessary. You certainly could treat every fish if you think that's the way to go.

Awesome video. Learned my lesson not to quarantine. Lost $600 in livestock. This is definitely the way to do it. IMO, eaiser and safer than hyposalinty and cupramine. Very informative thanks!

Thanks, very important to qt at least fish and everything wet is ideal. I've never lost a fish doing tank transfer. Some did not make it into display but none died as a result of the transfers and none of my fish have ever gotten ich in dt after I tank transferred all fish.

Would you normally do TTM first and then observation QT? If so why? I'm debating between methods of quarantine and want to set up a good system asap to stock a new 215 tank

I normally do TTM first as this will eliminate the possibility of ich then observe with prazipro treatments either during ttm or in observation. This is to eliminate internal parasites. TTM first if by chance they show signs of say velvet I can abort and treat with copper but that is rarely needed. TTM is easier on fish then copper but harder on the fish keeper. The longer you observe the fish the better. This also gives them a chance to get used to your food and captive life. Doesn't avoid them getting a beat down when you add to display but gives them the strength to fight it off. If you have more questions feel free to ask.

Average Reef what’s TTM. Also what’s best used for treating tangs 1-3”? I’m trying to setup the best and efficient qt setup for my future 200g and have lost plenty of livestock due to not qtimg. Any if all help is greatly appreciated.

How often do you put prazlpro in your tank do you put it in just wants are all the way up until seven days

I usually dose 2x while in QT but lately I have been doing 3x as I had some fish die of internal parasites despite 2 rounds. 2 Separate treatments is usually enough.

So is it ok to use prazi pro with copper?

Personally I never mix them. Copper would be to treat velvet which is very quickly life threatening where as prazi would be less critical to treat asap and can be done after the copper treatment. That being said I think other people have mixed them, just not me.
