I used to read every word over and over until I understood everything. Even the prologue and the notes in the end. It made read 1 book a year. Now I just scan and skip and I enjoy books much more

Sadly, I'm also guility to read the whole book instead of reading just sections. There is a book about 20 years old called "Improving your memory for Dummies" - Very good book. Still realvant even today. Not much has changed with regards to memory and neuroscience. Also enforces the idea o relavance of information.

I mean, it's so hard to skip parts.. How can I look myself in the eyes and say I finished the book? 😅 The trick I am working on is telling myself that I don't read just to read. I read for the knowledge, and that's my goal. Got it! Added it to my to-read list :) Look, Mark Manson, the author of "The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck" says he doesn't mark or write down anything. Whatever he remembers, that's what he''ll take from the book. I personally find it helpful to keep notes :)

Hey Urosm! I completely understand you. I still find myself feeling bad for not reading every paragraph in the book. It's about shifting the mindset from: "Trying to read just to "put in the reps" " to "Read to learn and expand the knowledge" Thank you for the support and the subscription! :)

Great topic. For me too, starting to use Evernote and the 'Second Brain' system, completely changed the way I handle books. Now I feel the need to re-read everything I read before I had the note-taking habit :) Regarding the part about watching videos or reading the gist of the book - in my opinion, that doesn't work so well. When you write a note, or highlight a part, you are emotionally connected to it. It is something that YOU made, and the trigger that made you highlight that specific part will probably be triggered again. Even if someone else has the exact same notes for a book, the chances of me actually using their notes is much smaller imo.

😂 I feel you on that one! About the second part, we need to make sure that these notes are actually valuable for us and that we did not create them in the heat of the moment, as it happens from time to time, so we don't end up with a pile of notes we don't really need. And 100% agreed on the last part. Thanks for the support! :)

Nice video. I am certainly a reader, but I'm also extremely selective with the books I choose to read. Many topics interest me, but I have a high threshold for what I actually decide to start because I know that once I start reading a book, I am probably going to finish it. As for forgetting 90% of it, I believe this statistic IF (important "if" there) you don't find a way to connect it to your life. The books which interest me are on topics I like, or I have some deep connection to. This makes me more likely to remember the information. I also re-read books sometimes too, so there is your spatial recognition.

Interesting.. Do you find a way to connect every book that you read to your life? And if you don't, how do you make sure to remember what you read? I would also love to get a few recommendations from you! :)

@@Orel_Zilberman Due to me being so selective with my books, I easily have those books enhance my life in some way because I am interested in the topic, or the specific information shared (and therefore easier to remember the information). As for book recommendations, I have many topics I am interested in, but I also can't recommend you a book if I don't know your interests. Here are a few books I read fairly recently, so you can sense of the variety and perhaps take one which piques your interest as your recommendation: The Thank You Economy (Gary Vaynerchuk), Man's Search For Meaning (Viktor E. Frankl), A Billion Wicked Thoughts (Ogi Ogas, Sai Gaddam), 12 Rules For Life (Jordan B. Peterson), Crime & Punishment (Dostoyevsky) and of course many more books I love :)

Love it! I'm looking for a way to organize and sort information. I'm more into podcasts these days. Might be a bit more tricky with the marking, but it's still possible. If you have tips for that, tho, it'll be great :)

Haha, glad you asked! I follow every successful person's routine. I meditate, first thing in the morning, for at least 2hours. Usually at 5AM. Then I journal for another hour. Once I'm done I put on the clothes I prepared a day before and hit the gym for an hour of workout. I get home, drink a green juice to fill myself with energy for the day ahead. The I manifest and thank the universe for the day ahead of me. I never use my phone after 6pm and I start my shutdown routine at the same time, which is similar to the morning routine. Every day. Now, if you want to look young, make sure to be born in the 90s, or top 80s 😜

@@Orel_ZilbermanThank you, that's really helpful! I need to do more exercises for flexibility and maybe start waking up slightly earlier (about 6:05-6:30, but I could do it earlier if I didn't went to sleep too late). I think I should try finishing some unnecessary things earlier or just make a habit to not spend time before the sleep on them, thank you for a great advice and motivation! ♥

Haha, I was kidding. I am not really that productive 😜 The point is to try your best and be a little better every day! And to find your rhythm and what makes the best day for you. On a serious note now. I try to go to sleep between 21:30-22:00 and wake up between 5-5:30. I found that 7.5 hours is optimal for me. I used to meditate in the morning for 20 minutes, but I found that it only slows me down and I didn't like it, so instead I start working as soon as I wake up. What's your daily routine? :)
