Here is a recap follow up video to my squatter video getting so much attention where I will answer some questions and address some negative reactions as well as break the process down. At the end there are more pictures and a short video of my Dog Bailey on that day. Thank you for all the support.

Actually it depends where you are from. Some require a 2y college degree. You can usually tell by how much they are paid. Also, they can be fired for breaking the law like this. Prisons that hire low quality people get trash like her.

A friend of ours had a similar situation. He owned the house and just went over and started ‘remodeling and repair’ work 😁😂 He started by taking out all the doors and windows. The people took their stuff and left. Thanks for sharing 💝

A relationship counselor, that I've known for years, once told me when he's counseling folks contemplating a divorce, "when working through an issue never get emotional. As soon as one of the parties becomes emotional, the issue on the table gets moved to the side and the emotional party is now the issue." You did not become emotional resulting in the squatter remaining the issue, not you. Well done!

One aspect of this that particularly disturbs me is (apparently) some of the squatters were sworn law enforcement officers. The sort of behavior those people exhibited cannot be tolerated at any level of law enforcement.

I am former Law-Enforcement and feel that the Prison Guard , who is a form of LEO, and all of the other criminals involved, they all need to be reported to the proper authorities. If the Handyman does not do so, that, Criminal On the Prowl will most likely do the same crimes to other victims.

What I noticed in your video was how incredibly calm, restrained, and kind you were. You could have gone off on that woman and no one would have blamed you for it. Instead, you chose to be dignified, to diffuse any potential issues, and show some humanity while being direct and firm with the individual. Those are the qualities we should all possess for effective conflict resolution and deescalation of difficult circumstances, and that is what stood out to me in your video. People who seek to find flaw with others do so because they are unhappy within themselves. Ignore those people, don’t address them at all because it breathes life into their pathology. I am impressed how you handled this and the world would be a better place if everyone could behave the way you did. I hope that I could do the same if presented with this situation.

I am a large apartment owner here in San Francisco. Over the years I had to go through the eviction process for the lack of not paying the rent or on a few occasions dealing drugs from my building. I never had a squatter situation like what you had. You taught me a lot about the method you have used to get the squatters out of your parent's place. You used the laws to work in your favor. Good for you sir! Glad it worked out in your favor.

I had a tenant who refused to pay or leave during the covid pandemic. There was nothing I could do for a whole year, even lawyers wouldn't help. By the time I finally got legal help and got them out with no rent payment for over a year, I sold the house for $200K more than what I would have gotten if sold before they stopped paying. As annoying and frustrating dealing with these kind of people, I came out ahead in the end.

Hello from CA & thanks 4 putting up video, as it really resonates with me. Once had a similar situation but the person was a lawyer & told me to sue. When he went to work, I hired a moving company & had them pack up his stuff & move it to a storage facility deep in the "hood" & also changed the locks. He called the police, etc and waited for me outside several times & threatened me with a weapon. Police told him to go to court & warned him about threatening me(which he denied). Stay strong!

Stuttering is not a sign of lack of intelligence. Actually it’s just the opposite. Stuttering is a sign of a racing mind and the speech center of the brain can’t keep up with the mind racing away. My take on why it was peaceful is that you gave the squatter an opportunity to ‘save face’ - if she wanted to pretend she wasn’t living there and someone went through her boxes, you didn’t have to prove her wrong, you just kept her moving along to the objective of leaving the house (and clearing out her stuff) by the end of the day. Sometimes people get hung up on proving they’re right and the other guy is wrong, they lose sight and ground in accomplishing their big objective - kudos to you Also think your calm demeanour - you didn’t threaten or even raise your voice - helped too - there was nothing she could play off

Well done for what you've done. Losing your Dad and having to negotiate your parents' house sale and then being beaten to the line by squatters - by strangers, essentially by illegal occupation, and overcoming the whole issue in a nice way... If she had employment with a state organisation it's a surprise! Well done for not showing their identity - that could have gone against you? The fact that you say 'um' or 'so' more than once is neither here nor there! God bless you and your Mom.

The thing is that the Police won’t go in and drag them out but what they don’t tell you is that if you can figure out a way to get them to leave the house they are no longer the squatter therefore no rights and if they try to go back In right in front of you they can be arrested. -Flash-

I have a master’s degree and taught at the college level. I ran across your first video this morning and watched for interest only. I saw absolutely nothing wrong with how you expressed yourself. You seem like a true gentleman. A rarity today. I see professionalism, kindness yet firm. Dog is cute too ❤ My husband joke about having squatters as we have a home in Florida that sets while we go north for the summer. We also have security and great neighbors. There are many fledgling landlords out there,we were one of them. We had three tenants from hell. For five years our tax returns went into our rental for damages done. We struggled to have the money for two mortgages when the renters trashed it,then left. So for people like us,thank you for posting hope that squatters can be evicted by a legal lease holder.After the last tenants from hell,we sold it. It was gut wrenching, but we couldn’t afford to rent out our two story house on five acres with a 30x30 barn,and four car garage for $1500.00 a month. Wild isn’t it?

That's sad! People really suck sometimes. We learned by having an insurance policy as part of the rent, their belongings are covered for damages and the structure is covered for their damages. It was a way to not see our own insurance premiums rise if tenants caused havoc, it was in their name with us as the payee.

Wow. That’s just awful. We have had shit renters but we started hiring professionals to handle our leases and it was worth it. The credit checks, background checks, lease and ability to check the property if needed was well worth it. Our renter history turned around.

I think the main reason for the handshake is for the squatters who are probably used to people coming in with what happens vitriol anger blade yelling and screaming at them that when you shook her hand it kind of deescalate it the situation before it could escalate. I thought it was great it's nice to deescalate a situation before it gets to flash over.

We have a rental in San DIego...in January 2021 the tenant stopped paying rent and claimed a Covid exemption from being evicted and squatted in our house for 3 years. California gave this person full permission to stay in the house and removed our right to have them removed for not paying rent. It ended up costing us $50,000 in lost rent, court fees, sheriff fees, cost of renovation after the freeloader left. California literally stole our property rights and gave the house to another...this is a scary senario for landlords who struggled for years to afford an income property while others think they can get free rent and have the right to outright steal from working class people who have invested in rental properties and not investment accounts.

In reading these comments I see that the person who did the squatting was a Correctional Officer. They need to be reported directly to the Warden of the prison where they work. At that time pointing out the national reporting done on the story. That will have much more effect than reporting to law enforcement or other State agencies.

Just discovered your removal of squatters video around an hour ago or so in my video feed and then watched this one. Excellent information, subjects and video. You have an unique niche and viewpoints that is definitely needed. I have done some handyman types of work off and on throughout my life and the topics you are covering would have been an amazing resource during those times and for our current time as well. And the negative criticism of your speech patterns is nonsense and petty. The commenters and viewers that complained aren't worth your time to respond. My dad's property had 8 RV spots that he rented out. One guy has been there for years renting three spots. Dad passed a year ago - I've been trying to get this guy off the property ever since (legal channels). The man is known as 'cow chip' around this area - a nickname he earned about 50 years ago and never progressed to relinquish it. I wish I could share a drone photo here - imagine 9 RVs (a couple motorhomes, the rest camper trailers), a couple other vehicles - several dogs and cats ----- ALL contained in three normal RV spots. Packed in like sardines!!! No end in sight!! Thanks for the original and this follow-up.

I really enjoyed the previous video related to this one. You seem like a VERY down-to-earth guy who dealt very well with what could have been a difficult situation. You seem extremely kind. There is something about your spirit that is very peaceful. My father owned many properties and had to evict awful tenants. One even spat on him and threw sharp objects at him. She destroyed his property and we knew her family for years. You remind me of him in that you weren’t trying to destroy anyone. You just wanted to reclaim your property.

I'm impressed that you did not lose your cool. It was also fortunate that your squatter wasn't fried on meth because THAT situation would need the police. If someone watches a video and comments about it being boring? Guess what: boring people allow themselves to get bored. Anyone else who has a life, we move on to something else.

I just came across your original video and just wanted to say kudos to you and thank you for this valuable information! Too many people are taking advantage of landlords or the elderly and working the system. It destroys the lives of the landlords or the elderly and they don't care. Your video was extremely informative and demonstrated what can happen when clever, sneaky people take advantage of the elderly. Thank you!

Flash, late to this, but found you randomly through a news report. I appreciate your kindness and being able to stay calm in such a situation. You’re thorough, you do your research, and I appreciate you helping your mother and others in this situation. PS-people say “so” or “um” all of the time! That’s not improper grammar, it’s when you’re trying to find your thoughts. Only people that speak to groups of people regularly/have a set speech can minimize this-even then it’s quite difficult.

You are a beautiful person. I saw the other video and this one. I Like what you did, how you talk , and find what you did ...brilliant. I thank you for being so authentic, kind, and at same time stand up for yourself in firm and respectful, strategic way but not as a victim....and be willing to share your story with others for how it may in any way help and encourage them to be able to do the same...in their own ways or by your example. We can use more of that and people like you, in our world.

I agree with everything you say and applaud you. Even the shaking of hands; I saw that on the video and understood that what you were doing was not against them but for you and your mother. Shaking their hand and being level headed shows that you did not act in hatred.

Something to think about… every negative comment you had received about the so’s and um’s STILL COUNTS as a KZfaq-algorithm-affecting-“comment” in your favor so from one perspective it’s a no lose situation because every negative post actually makes your video slightly more popular and viral :)

I just delete comments when people write stupid stuff. Censorship works. You did a great job on both videos and probably helped a lot of people resolve highly frustrating situations in a legal and nonviolent manner. Excellent job!

I had neighbors who rented a house next to mine to people who turned out to be Hells Angels. They would not pay their rent and what the owners did was watch to see when they were not there and the owners took off the front door. Needless to say the Hells Angels left right away.

You were respectful, never assertive nor threatening. You controlled the mood and she clearly knew she was WRONG. You allowed the dignity in the moment. I appreciate so much the desire for you to address this AGAIN. There are far more dangerous situations that others could walk into but the tone you set was quiet and respectful and you had all the bases covered. I am so sad that fools called you out on the speech pauses; and the discernment you had to remain cool and calm. You were fully within your rights to enter your home and set the video equipment to monitor your asset - the home.
