I agree. I'd add that everyone can maximize on their looks with the right style that fits their figure. Even pretty girls could rank higher with a more suitable wardrobe. The Little Mermaid (1989) looked okay with the ship's sail as a cover up, but so beautiful with her evening blue dress out on the lake.

In the last 9 months I’ve been able to lose the weight that I gained after 2 c-sections in my 20’s and a hysterectomy at 33. Now at 61, I’ve lost just over 70 pounds. I’m loving recreating my wardrobe from thrift stores. Now is sizes small and medium, I’m having a fun time creating outfits.

How wonderful! Congratulations!! You give me inspiration. I am also 61, a mom of 4. I just had a full hysterotomy that kept me pretty immobile for several months. I had just started to walk again and now I have COVID lol Oh well, I won't let that stop me once I feel better. I can't wait to shop again for clothing that actually fits right.

As someone who wears a size 18 or 20 but is only 5’ tall, thrifting for clothes has never worked for me. I have a very hard time finding clothes that fit even in regular stores. What saves me money is buying from the places that carry clothing that I know will fit, especially when they are on sale, and sticking to solid colors that I can mix and match to get the most looks from. I love sticking with a capsule wardrobe that fits in my 34” wide closet and using accessories to change things up. Like you, I love pieces I can dress up or down for the occasion.

I was similar size and had good results buying petite sizes on ebay and poshmark. Not able to buy my whole wardrobe that way but blouses, sweaters and tops especially.

To put extra money on our home mortgage, I skipped buying mum flowers and only bought one orange pumpkin for our front porch. We have a balance of $23,300. Debt free except mortgage. Andrea. I only buy neutral clothes too. Thrifting !👏🏻

Just found your video. I also feel awkward displaying clothing but I also thrift all my clothes except my underclothes. Great to save money and for the environment. I dress similar to you, cozy and comfy but I need very warm clothing during the winter months in Ontario because we don’t turn our heat up 😊. You did great

I loved seeing all your tips. I am a jeans and t-shirt gal too. Sweaters, sweats and cozy socks are my favorites. I was just back home visiting Michigan with my husband the first week of October. I LOVE my home state. We had the best time. The weather was still 'Indian Summer'. We left before the weather turned cold. We visited Mackinac Island and the UP, up at Whitefish Bay. I wanted to see the bell from the Edmund Fitzgerald. Meant a lot to see and we made some special memories, my husband and I. We will be coming for a visit in the spring to visit Holland, MI and Frankenmuth. I can't wait. Once a Michiganian, always a Michiganian. 🥰🥰

I got a bunch of sweaters n some Long sleeve shirts from good will as well, we also have a good name brand consignment shop I go to, I love thrifting yes some clothes just too much money n it definitely seems to pay to look, certainly doesn’t hurt! I'm going on my 2nd fall/winter on our little homestead. I have been really into thrifting men's flannel shirts. I love them because they are comfy, oversized, and cover my bum when I'm wearing leggings 🤗. I like to pair them with a white or black undershirt and have the top bottons undone.

Love this video! I never buy retail. I prefer American Eagle jeans, so I tried some on in the mall and pick them up when I find my size when thrifting. Funny, our Goodwill got rid of the fitting rooms during Covid and never brought them back, so there's like half naked people all over the store trying things on. 🤣

Such cute pieces you bought! I, too, thrift all my clothes! A girlfriend of mine and I love going to our local resale clothing stores and we go to every charity sale and garage sales and markets to get great pieces, then when I tire of something, I just consign or donate things!
