Making 10 years I share my internet and my bills with my 2 neighbors... I use at first CPE from tp-link and now use the really good from ubiquiti . Could be more than 2 km from each other I test 5 km from my friend in the other city , working good and good speed also . Just be sure to buy good quality and put a place where the signal can travel easy.

The 100Mbps limit you have may be because you are not connected "directly" to those Cromfast APs but rather to the fiber router (or the tplink repeater) which are configured to 100Mbps (or could even go to 300Mbps max i guess).
@xxcr4ckzzxx840
@xxcr4ckzzxx840 2 жыл бұрын
The limit is because these devices only offer a 100Mbit/s RJ45 Port on them. So the connection between them might be way faster, but they cant give that to other devices. Thats why he saw 90 Mbit/s max via RJ45/Ethernet on the Laptop. Thats a shame, but good enough for his family, I'm sure.
@HoloScope
@HoloScope 2 жыл бұрын
@@xxcr4ckzzxx840 haha that's so dumb. I had the same issue with a router I bought. The WAN Ethernet Port to connect to the Internet modem was limited to 100 Mbps, but the standard that it used was 5g so they used the theoretical limit of 5g instead of just using what the router WAN port was actually capable of.
@xxcr4ckzzxx840
@xxcr4ckzzxx840 2 жыл бұрын
@@HoloScope To be fair, they disclose this in their datasheet and in the description of their product. Yes its not instantly obvious and the 900Mbit/s are preferably advertised, but it's right there.

@@xxcr4ckzzxx840 it really depends though. Not just the devices even the ethernet cables also can cause a limitation Cat 5E, Cat6 or Cat6A. Its best to always plan out the network your building up. The ports from the router may max out only 100 Mbit/s, since it is the source of the network bottleneck. His laptop at his unit may gain more Speed because the router's wifi maxing the bandwidth via 5G. If the router's ports can give 1000 Mbit/s then replacing the cable to Cat6 or Cat6A from the router to the Access Point CPE should max out what it is telling from it's Data Sheet. It should trickle down to the other unit also The wifi of the other unit if it has a 1000 Mbit/s port should use also use Cat6 or Cat6A to maintain the speed that it is travelling.

I installed tp-link devices at my sisters rural property to give the second house internet. CPE210 or something similar (don't have the actual model numbers handy). They were very difficult to setup. Quick start guides supplied were useless. Had to download full manuals in order to set them up correctly. Once setup they worked well over the 300m distance between the buildings. A bit more expensive but worked well for years in the rain and hot sun.

Mate time is precious with your son so grab as much time as you can and by doing the right thing extending your visa and all those things its going to keep you in good stead with the Japanese Government. With some countries if you can't get anymore extensions they might allow you to leave the country and come back on a whole fresh visa. So maybe you just have to leave and travel to another Country close by stay a few days and head back maybe ? Worth investigating lol. Also love these new Comcast devices you have shared today.

Best do a new SSID on the CPE , one broadcast the signal and on the other side received internet to plug in client mode ! The router in the others house could share internet into the home . This give you more privacy and better protection for every computer on the network... But understand sharing, but will not do it .

Do not use the range your router gives out for the DHCP. DHCP is for new clients that come on the network, and you can end up with 2 clients with the same IP, you're gonna have problems. Altho some routers are smart enough to see if the IP is taken, but never rely on that tho. Just use IP that is OUT if the DHCP range and you are good, just as long as it is in the network so 192.168.10.x (x=1-254).. minus the DHCP range You can also just set the “Outdoor Wireless AP Bridge” to use DHCP, but then the IP changes sometimes and can be annoying if you need to connect to it.

I wish you would do a little more research before recommending subpar tech like this. The reason you're not getting over 100mbit/s is written in the specs - 1*10/100 LAN port. To have a 100mbit only LAN port on a device that claims to be good for 866mbit/s on the WiFi side is "criminal" regardless of whether or not it's enough in your case. It's like paying for a gigabit internet service and getting a 100mbit/s router...
@jas_bataille
@jas_bataille 2 жыл бұрын
I'm sorry, what? No, it's not criminal, Todor. He is not *supposed* to turn a single gigabit connection into *two* gigabit connections for *two* different locations. Technically, what *he's* doing in the grey area of legal. Also, there is a very reasonable engineering reason as to why those are limited to 100mbps, and it's stated quite clearly. See this explanation : "The limit is because these devices only offer a 100Mbit/s RJ45 Port on them. So the connection between them might be way faster, but they cant give that to other devices. Thats why he saw 90 Mbit/s max via RJ45/Ethernet on the Laptop. Thats a shame, but good enough for his family, I'm sure." ... the tech is not sub-par, it's *excellent*?! It haven't dropped once. It does exactly what it says on the box. Do you genuinely expect a full gigabit ethernet port on something that extend a signal for 5KM and cost 100 bucks?!! Yes, there IS better tech, that will cost you MORE than a second connection anyway. Stop asking DIY solutions to be high-end. Stop. It doesn't make any sense. Also stop thinking that a company is "criminal" if *you* don't do your research, that's insanely ridiculous. They provide a product that's phenomenal for the price. 100 mbps on 5KM max extension for this money is i-n-s-a-n-e and unheard of. Stop being a snob tbh
@t0d0r
@t0d0r 2 жыл бұрын
@@jas_bataille Lol, first why post an explanation of the 100mbit/s limit on a post that explains it!? Second, how exactly is limiting the lan speed to 100mbit *excellent*? Gigabit is practically standard for almost 20 years now. You'd have to go out of your way to find 100mbit LAN interface on a 802.11ac wifi device. Just take a look at any of the networking brands, even the cheaper ones like TP-Link. Understand that 100mbit LAN does not make sence on a 802.11ac device. Third, what I expect from a product is what it says on the box, how is anyone supposed to get 866mbit/s from this thing?? It's gimped by design. Talk of not doing your research, smh... And the thing about turning a single gigabit connection into two gigabit connections -- where do you even get that?? Almost didn't want to answer when I read it... if you're going to send me another reply written with your hurt feelings, don't bother
@donixion4368
@donixion4368 2 жыл бұрын
Not so much criminal as maybe a bit unclear. Personally, I care more about internal network speeds than I do about Wide Area Network (WAN) speeds. If I get a WAN with 30 to 50 Mbit/s I'm ok with that. I need my internal network to run at or near 1Gbit/s for various reasons. something like this is still good if you need access long distance to your LAN resources but don't need 1Gbit/s internet.

As a 5820k owner since 2016, the best upgrade path for you is to just get a new system, i had after the 5820k the following CPUs with an RTX 2070: I5 8400, Ryzen 1200, 1400, 1600, 2600, 3100 and lastly a 3300X, mostly for 3D work, gaming and also testing. 5820k is STILL A GREAT PLATFORM, yet the IPC jump with the i5 8400 alone was pretty significant, specially gaming related, i kept my 5820K thanks to the high PCIe bandwith it has that allowed me to add multiple devices, mostly capture cards, and since i have it as a streaming/recording only PC, with a 1650 Super now to get use of the NVENC encoder, it does really well for that up to this day. As for "Cheapest" upgrade, possibly would be getting a Xeon X99 cpu + a better GPU, but since you wont be putting much framerate due of the CPU limitations, you could possibly just jump to play in 1440/4K 60fps if you have a display or TV that can do that. Nowadays my main rig is a 5900X with a 3090Ti and a 42inch LG C2, and its BY FAR, THE BEST EXPERIENCE AVAILABLE NOW. Hope this helps!

I also used 15 years ago or something like that network cards on the amplifier core for the outside I think it was tested on a mobile basis and via laptop over cities distances of up to 25 kilometers you can still access your internet just not as fast but within 5 kilometers yes Full speed from the router. The one you select with 5g antennas 2 times earlier in the training period I had hardly any money because everything was still open and admin at that time had 2000 lines max with routers, well, if people didn't know passwords, bad luck. I had free network full bars no idea where full network tables come from. Today there are routers too old to pay for the crap it's worth paying more too old also depends on your network how fast it runs in the pc you have to have the speed for 100g where away to send the power over 2x5g or 2x10g 100,000mbits goes over 1 g. with 1000 line is enough. at a distance what more do you want for free. the funny thing is you can build antennas out of tin cans, 5g are good too😂

No, you can use it around the globe. Some reviews say, they even extended their wifi to the moon.
