In this video I take you behind the scenes of an off camera flash portrait shoot on location in the Peak District in the UK.
I show you how I created a number of creative off camera flash portraits using the Sony A9, Godox V860III speedlight, Godox X2T trigger, MagMod MagBox Pro 42 Octa, MagSphere and colour correction gels.
All the photographs in this video were taken on the Sony 35mm f1.8, Sony 85mm f1.8, Sony 16-35mm f2.8 GM and the Sigma 135mm f1.8 lens.
A massive thank you to my friend Darcie Binsley for modelling for me - you can follow Darcie on Instagram here: / darcie_binsley_model
And a huge thank you to my friend Toni Darcy for all her hep with this video too - both filming and helping with my lights. Toni has a fantastic KZfaq channel herself - which you can subscribe to here: / tonidarcyphoto

Wonderful! I thoroughly enjoy your videos, Neil; thanks for doing them. What do you do with these sorts of shots with models? Are they practice for paying gigs or what?

Thank you very much Steve, my pleasure, I love making these videos 😊 I'm not quite sure what you mean though - do you mean why do I do these shoots?

@@NeilRedfern I suppose "why"is the question. What is the goal in taking these shots? Is it strictly for the video? To teach us how to make such shots? Testing out concepts for yourself? Portfolio (which I'd expect you don't need more images for that!)? Sale? No matter why, though, they are excellent; your enthusiasm for what you're doing is through the roof!!!

Hi Neil, Just a question, when you are doing weddings, and you are time poor, do you still use these tools even though they take more time, to get the banger shots.
@NeilRedfern
@NeilRedfern 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Wayne - great question! Yes I do, these shots don't actually take long to set up really, each of the shots in this video for example was taken with just one light and as I have been taking shots like this for so long I am quite quick. The thing which takes a bit longer for shoots like this is the taking in to the camera etc.
