First of all how to find time to craft? I put my beads in little dollar tree white clear boxes. They are 10 for $1,oo. Then I put them in Heavy produce boxes to store. Stored on their sides so you can see what is in them. Now I am thinking of putting all the silver together and another box for gold. I do have to admit the beads are taking over my life. I love it. I have lost 40 lbs just doing my beading, hands busy so I don't thin about food nice bonus.

I use the Elizabeth Ward Bead Storage System....I am a bead-a-holic and already have 24 bead storage cases filled with seed beads and misc beads....I also have many vintage and antique cabinets with all my polymer clay beads and silver and copper charms....yes some might say I have a problem - but one can never have too many beads.. hahaha!

Okay, so, I'm really late to the party. Just found your channel a couple days ago and I've been having a blast watching.....everything. Fair warning, this is going to be long...so, thank you in advance to anyone who actually reads the whole thing. LOL Anyway, my favorite non-bead beading item - oddly enough - is a binder! At least 1 inch, but if you order/buy a lot, you may want to get a larger one. (I've had to upgrade recently to a 5" one.) I have all sorts of "pockets" for it from basic sheet protectors to "sports card pages"...and everything in between. They have them on Amazon (not sure where you'd find them locally, but maybe scrap book shops or craft stores?) in the normal sizes, plus "photo" pages you can put in the binder for 3x5" items, 4x6" items, and 5x7" items. Why do I like them? It helps me organize all of those business cards, instruction sheets, and more that sometimes come with your beads, bead kits, or other supplies, especially when you order. The sports card pages easily hold business cards (and many often have a discount code! - of which, those are organized by expiration date if there is one). The regular sheet protectors are great for full-sheet instructions or larger instruction sheets than can be folded. The rest hold more of the various "post card" sized items, such as the things in the back of the box you showed first. Be it just the names/websites on larger-than-business-card sheets you get when ordering, smaller instruction sheets, the tags/packaging from various beads I fell in love with, etc. I put everything into my binder as soon as I get anything like that. Each of the different sized pages has its own section. If I use a particular site often, I'll add a slip of paper in with the card to note what I get there ("Cheapest Czech beads" or "They have my favorite size Delica's") so I can easily find what I'm looking for when I run low on the items I use most often. While 11/0, 6/0, even 8/0 seed beads, and bugle beads, are common, I love working with 10/0 Delica's (big enough for me to easily see and I can get a needle through them several times, yet they're still small enough that you can make more "dainty" pieces with them), but - alas - finding sites that sell that size can be difficult. As there are a very limited number of sites that sell them, making those notes in the binder helps a lot. I also have a section in the back with printed pages I made in a spreadsheet program on my computer that simply has 2 columns. In the left column, I write in the website, In the right column, I put the basics of what they have (seed beads, clasps, "everything", etc.). My binder has truly been a life-saver at times when I can't remember where I got what, but I know that I want or need more of something. Sometimes, I honestly don't know where I'd be without that binder. Seriously, take my beads (*most* of them can easily be replaced)...but don't touch my binder!!! LOL

I use that system Gina from Opal & Orchid uses! Ironically I first started with using your DollarTree system of small containers but I had put them in the DollarTree shoe boxes! Then I had an idea to reuse those TicTac flip top containers....which led me to Gina's idea! I grew out of each method! I have been beading for a long long time!

I have a bookshelf on top of my desk too. I sort by type, then by colour. I use the clear plastic shoe boxes for faceted, smooth, metal, acrylic and plastic, and then I have odd boxes for gemstones, pearls, and shells. I then bag the beads by colour in the shoe boxes. I also have stackable boxes for my lampwork, Czech glass, ceramic ,cabochons and components that go with the cabs. Oh, pendants are also in that box. I have another set of shelves that used to hold dvd's. I bought small containers from the dollar store that hold multi-holed beads. On the shelf in my desk I have organized into boxes; 3 & 4mm bicones, #15 seed beads, 3mm beads, 4mm beads, and crystal of all sizes. #11 seed beads are sorted by colour in business card boxes, #6 and #8 beads are stored in a big plastic lettuce container . I also use my four drawer file cabinet to store plastic bags by size. I also store findings in the 3rd drawer so I can easily access head pins, bead caps, etc. I write with a Sharpie on the outside of the plastic boxes just what the heck is inside. Whew!

What I have started to do is cut apart my order list and put the description of each item I ordered away with it. I initially started to make sure I knew what the metal content of the earring findings I was using so no one with ear sensitivity would have a problem, but I found it useful for everything. For instance, if I am doing a seed bead project where size is important, I only what to use my Japanese seed beads because I find them to be most uniform. Also sometimes I can't remember the stone names of the more unusual minerals or which howlite I have is imitation or not. It all would seem so clear when I opened each order then 3 months later not so much. Of course I am a bit older than you....

I buy these clear storage boxes from dollar tree, their 12 little slots and 1 big slot. Each slot can fit over 200 4mm rounds. I really love them bc their small and dirt cheap. I separate my beads by type and then size. So rounds, pearls, rondelles, bicones, cubes, drops have their own boxes. Then I separated by size. So each box is a different size as well. I never mix. This way I know where all my beads are n never have to dig. I use them also for my rhinestones. I lay down a pad in each slot then put my stones in. Boxes dont take up alot of space and are stackable. So I can fit 8 boxes tall on my shelve and their maybe 5in wide. So definitely a space saver. I dont have as much as you do but my Collection grows larger each month. And have tons of room to grow..despite my bank account

You have a beautiful stash of beads 😍 Amazing organization, the system really works for you. I personally had to get away from baggies for the most part. I know they take up less room but then I’d have to pull out all the bags in each compartment to remember what was at the bottom. My niece showed me a storage box from Harbor Freight that is a box with 24 little boxes inside. I’ve switched to those and probably have like 25-30 of them. I sort seed beads by size then color, then other beads by faceted then color, stone beads in another, acrylic in another, findings in another with a box for clasps then by metal, ear wires then by metal, etc. Similar to what you do in a way. I’ll have to share a photo with you on your Instagram page. Thanks for taking the time to share your years of knowledge

I actually like the elizabeth ward organizers....I do mostly bead weaving, so I can get a continer with the boxes or buy an empty one and cutomize it for what I need....then for my findings and charms I get the 24 compart oranizers from harbor fraight and that takes care of my finding and I oranize that by metal then I have one for restock that is a finding soup in gold say and the other one is with my crystals and seed beads That will have what I mostly use earwires, 2 or3 sizes of jump rings some clasps and so on....my seed beads and persision beads are by manufactuer, size then finish and also amount....and a tip that helps me, is I use the invoice to lable my contIners and my bags...and also to make sure There are no mistakes in my order or what was sent to me in my bead box!😊

I just ordered some containers from $ store. I recently went through all my beads and made sure they were some what sorted but that each baggie is labeled with size and quantity- took forever. I have to put the bags somewhere so I ordered the containers. I don’t have nearly what you have in beads and I have reduced to two hobbies beading and quilting. I like the bead soup jar sounds better than my orphan jar! Thanks for showing your system.

I have specific containers for findings, stone beads, Swarovski, etc., but as soon as I get the beads in I put them all in one box and re-organize to integrate the new items. I have found great boxes at Harbor Freight that are pretty reasonable; they are 9x6 inches and hold 24 small boxes that are 1 1/2 by 1 3/4 and cost $4.99 US. If this works for you that's great! I could never find what i am looking for with your organization. I have a very massive collection. first when you get beads that are strung, i never cut them apart. put them in a baggie to store so they don't rub and scratch each other.since I have all mine on 2 1/2 floor to ceiling book shelves. looking to add another 1/2 book shelf on top of the half. mine have to be sorted by gemstones. seed beads and some crystals (not my Swarovski) are in the half book shelf at the moment. All my SS, GF, fine rose gold are stored in a chest of drawers. my desk looks somewhat like yours but, my tools are the shelves except the ones I use everyday. they are in a basket standing up so as not to damage them. maybe later I can post pics on your FB page. I do have a lot of the same storage you do though. I think through the years I , I was constantly changing storage views. after 20+years I am 90% satisfied with mine. keep staying ahead of your storage . It's a constant battle.

Storage is a constant battle if I had more floor room I would have more artbin super satchels. I have been beading since I was 7yr now I'm 30yr so that is 23yrs of beading for me.
