How I Stay Healthy and Fit as a Mom 2023 (Without Diets and Working Out) Pregnant with Baby #5

Now That We're A Family

Күн бұрын

A question I’ve gotten a lot over the years is, “How do you stay healthy and fit as a mom of a lot of little kids?” Today I’ll be sharing how my body has been able to maintain health, vitality and energy to be able to keep up with my kids, as well as able to gain weight when I needed to, lose weight when I’m ready to, and maintain that overall life and energy in my body.
These things are tiny lifestyle habits that I consider compounding effects for me over the long term. It’s exciting, because these are easy, do not require willpower or determination, can be done pregnant or postpartum and during a busy or even a sleep deprived season of life. A highly disciplined regimen, while it can be helpful for us to get that motivation to get the extra weight off right away or see muscle tone quickly, it’s not necessarily sustainable for a lot of us in our lifestyle.
None of the things I mention are rocket science, but I do think it’s the simple things that add up over time. Health is intended to be simple, something we can do ourselves from a preventative standpoint. I do want to put my time, energy and money into preventative health and hopefully avoid some of the big things that come from not putting time and intention there.

It’s good to hear I’m not doing “wrong” when I sleep as late as I can in the mornings. I often feel guilty for it. I just can’t seem to get up earlier because I’m so tired. I go to bed late because after the kids are in bed, those few hours I can get some extra things done (or catch up on what should be done already) and relax a little. I think I believe that my life should always look a certain way (get up at 6, work out, devotions all before the kids wake up) no matter what season I’m in.. I seem to not believe in seasons. 🧐

(I love this family and their positive information) But this morning I am watching and I was thinking that I was thankful for the camera angles and changes since it's so early and I'm 6 weeks pregnant with a still breastfeeding through the night 1 year old and a 2 year old that climbs in to bed with us every night etc 😅

So helpful- honestly feels like an answer to prayer! Pretty much the same for me, the only difference is, I haven't come to a place of peace with myself in those seasons of life that I'm not up at 5:00 a.m. doing my morning ritual every day... and I judge myself very harshly. So discouraging and frustrating. But just hearing you talk about prioritizing sleep and not getting too "in your head" was really healing. You totally trust in the process of maintaining that active lifestyle and I love that and definitely would benefit from thinking more like that.!! ESPECIALLY when I'm 37 weeks pregnant with my 3rd 😀

I’m not even halfway through, but I can already say amen! :) Vitamin D has changed my life - I was sick soo many times last year, and haven’t gotten sick since I started taking it almost 2 months ago plus I’ve had so much more energy and felt better. And I’ve learned that lesson, too, about just not having the bad foods in your home! It works - I’m healing so much faster from an autoimmune disease that went untreated for at least a couple of years. And like I said, I haven’t finished the video, but cleaning the house is my favorite work out! I laugh that people pay me to clean their house and watch their kids so they have time to go to the gym - vacuuming steps and hauling laundry baskets? 💪🏼

I just found you this morning Katie and I’ve been binging all your channel all morning in my “quiet time”. I started a KZfaq channel this past year and I was struggling with keeping my identity as a young mom with all the “that girl” videos and trends because I love health and fitness but I’m started to realize I gotta put motherhood first and adjust according! That being said I took the entire year of 2023 offline and I’m not trying to actively grow on any channel(after spending a year pushing that)! It’s a hefty goal as I LOVE filming and creating content BUT family comes first and so do personal goals and an actually healthy lifestyle😅

I literally agree with everything in this video 😄 I don’t need to be lifting weights, it’s plenty weight doing everything with my 6 month old. I am also sleeping in almost everyday, my kids get up before me but thankfully my husband is an early riser and works from home. As far as drinks, I looove coffee but as a comfort drink; I never drink it “cuz I need it”, which I also learned a while ago we shouldn’t hang on to things like that, we need Jesus and not coffee. That’s how I see it and always remind myself of that. I also suffer with hormonal imbalances (hypothyroid) & need my naps. And as far as juices unfortunately we grew up with them and my husband and I love drinking something with our meals so I try to make ours. Lemonade in our home is big rn, I’m also getting into kombucha, and us Russians love kompot- boil some fruits in a gallon of water for 30 min, sweeten with any sweetener to taste and strain + serve cold. It makes a refreshing summer drink and there are different combos you can find online!

I'm currently 33 weeks pregnant with our first. My husband is really good at avoiding added sugars but I've been struggling especially while pregnant. I've dealt with this for most of my pregnancy by eating more fruit but in my third trimester I find myself even more tempted by simple carbs as my appetite finally picked up.

Has Elish tried Roma or Perro to replace coffee? It says to mix with water, which is good, but... I recommend blending it with a non dairy milk and then heat on the stove and it makes a nice foam on top. I recently switched and it tastes better than coffee too and is healthier for you. You can sweeten it with honey or agave.

Agree with not buying baked goods or any sweets! Same with juices or any drinks really. But…Endangered Species dark chocolate with almonds and sea salt is my go-to if I really get a sweet craving! It’s actually beneficial in small amounts, and I’ll do maybe 2 tiny squares a day. Another good one is organic peanut butter mixed with organic Greek yogurt and cinnamon, used as an apple dip! I don’t add any sweeteners because the apple is plenty sweet.

I need to get those supplements. I don’t think most supplements actually absorb into the body. I looked to see if you have a link for what you use but I couldn’t find one. If possible I would really appreciate one. I really want to have more kids but my body is tired so I want a break to get my body back on track. I am about to be thirty this July and I have had three babies in three years. The first two were c-sections 16 months apart from each other. My three year old had just turned three about three weeks before I had my third baby so they are all pretty close. If I could turn back time and make the ideal situation I would have married my husband a lot sooner and started having kids sooner. I didn’t get married until I was twenty-five.

Hello! How can I get help picking out the right Neolife product? I just had my 3rd baby 6 months ago and I need something to feel my best. There's no contact on your website and I don't find info on your website or Neolife website to help me figure out the different products. Which product is it you and your mom are taking? I'm very interested. thank you

Hi! I just checked your website, I'm interested in balancing my hormones after my current pregnancy with baby number 8. I struggled to lose the baby weight like usual after my last baby and just put it down to being in my 30s. Anyway, it would be nice if you could just put a detailed list out as I can't really afford to buy products from your website just now and would like so see what I can source locally. Blessings from Australia 😊

Would also appreciate knowing which supplements she means! The website was confusing and being from Canada just getting the vitamins etc from Walmart would be much more cost effective

Katie, you forgot one: no birth control 🙂This is obvious for some of your audience but not for everybody that will see your video. Birth control hurt our bodies so much.

Yes it's so true. Now I'm very religious so I was taught very early how it's morally wrong in addition to physically bad for women's body. But put religion aside it's terrible for you.

i was thinking about supplements, but it kinda freaks me out to think to eat a fist of pills every morning. it seems so unnatural. but if it helps and if the supplements are good, why not give it a try? i struggle with fatigue and hormonal imbalance and crazy pms . maybe ill give it a try 🤔

I once felt the same way, but we need supplements. Modern farming methods have destroyed the quality of the ground, water, and produce. Pretty much everyone is deficient in something or another. Vitamin D deficiency is the most common one. We could all use probiotics and prebiotics. Greens powder and collagen are helpful.

I make a drink with all my supplements in them each day. I use liquid and fine powder supplements they dissolve and I just drink it all in one mason jar full of sparkling water.

All good a part from the supplements. If you need pharmaceutical drugs (that's what supplements are because they have to be made in a lab and extracted with chemicals) then you are not well. You're masking symptoms with those, and you're then not getting all the nutrients you need from your diet. Besides that, the rest is all great

I see this title and I'm thinking she is going to talk about how she stayed sane, not fit 😅. Mom of one over here and I'm wondering how you stay sane with many young kids in a short amount of time.

So... (unless im missing something) you mentioned a saving grace to your adrenals and grew your hair back that your MOM recommended to take and took all her 11 pregnancies, then prompt your listeners to go on your website to find out more about this. Only to find out I have to become a member and getting a percentage off of your own supplements? after selecting the shop now tab. I may be wrong or again missing something but there's something that seems a little disingenuous about profiting off of something your mom told you about/or now selling and sharing it with other moms only by charge. I enjoy your channel and understand everyone's trying to make money where they can, but it's a little disappointing.

Great question! They aren't my supplements, unfortunately. They are from a company called Neolife. I couldn't afford my supplements as a teenager, so I became an affiliate for them, and I still share my link. :) It's at no extra charge to you and membership is free! Yay!

Neolife’s supplements are awesome! I’ve used them for the past 4 years and I buy mine from Katie’s aunt. It’s not Katie putting a membership on this, it’s just how the company works! Lots of people use these supplements because they’re awesome! 🥰
