You put this out a year ago and I am just now benefitting from it. Don't get discouraged, keep helping us. Im hunting for helpful information for my daughter. She is 12 and just recently diagnosed with T1D. I am completely stressed out and I don't trust most doctors. I really find comfort in people like you and you have been an answer to prayer. I pray for wisdom and understanding in how to manage my daughters T1D every day. I also pray for him to heal her every morning. I am thankful for your KZfaq posts.

The Dawn phenomenon Is normal! Everyone’s glucose levels are raised in the morning. Let the body do what it’s suppose to do. Work up with a reading of 101 by lunch, down to 75.

Great information as usual Matt! 🙏🏼 I normally have low fast glucose but within an hour or so, it spikes tremendously, and I realized it was stress (!) while getting ready for work, therefore, I started taking humalog bolus before it starts rising and It has been effective so far. Keep up the fight! 🤜🏻🤛🏼

I had to go for a fasting glucose test at 7:30am. I took my reading at 6:55 and it was 108, which is pretty good for me. My car wouldnt start so I had to get a last minute Uber to make it on time. Got there, got home and just out of curiosity checked my BS and it was 139!!!! Didnt eat or drink anything. And thats the number on my test results. Sooo frustrating

As long as your basal rate is right than you don't experience this. It is true,but if your basal right is in check,and taken at the right time. This will not happen. The spike is only minor coming from the Dawn phenomenon. Thanks for the content and everything you've done and are doing for us, esp those that have type 1. I'm coming up on 10 years. Much love,and hope all is well with you Matt,and everyone else.

I typically have a blood glucose reading of between 100 and 112 right out of bed. I typically don’t take a reading later in the day. Over a period 3 weeks of testing (using a manual glucose meter), I have never obtained a reading below 100.

Continue with OMAD with keto with Leafy n non starchy vegetables for another 6 months, FBS comes to normal, because of regeneration of B cells in Pancreas. In reversal of Type 2 DM , normalisation of FBS takes longer time.

Thanks a lot for the information. I have prediabetes 2. I was on metformin for 5 years and my sugar tests showed no difference. Then I stopped and started intermittent fasting for 6 months and then OMAD from July. I have noticed that my morning blood sugar goes to 135 at 8am and then starts to drop by noon 105-110 before I eat. After lunch (Keto) it does not change and shows 110-120. I'm thinking of continuing until my blood sugar drops further from 135 to 110. What do you think? Thanks a lot again!!!!!!!!!!

Most of my life I have fought the battle of the bulge in the last eight years clean eating low-carb and just clean healthy eating and then I was diagnosed as a type one diabetic and now have to take even though small amounts… Insulin and I have gained weight...help please 🙏🏻😊

@AJ-ku9jz
@AJ-ku9jz Жыл бұрын
I envy type 2's. Being type 1, I can manage it with diet but I cannot reverse it as can you. Please look into it, many many type 2's are no longer diabetic after diet change. As Maria mentioned, with carnivore diet but also with keto diet or managing and reducing their carb intake etc.
@christopherone1
@christopherone1 Жыл бұрын
@@AJ-ku9jz NO type 1 can manage 'it' with diet. If you're a type 1, regardless if you don't eat another morsel of food your entire life, you'll still need insulin (basal and bolus) to survive daily. Also, ah...no...there is also NO cure for type 2's they can lose weight, change their eating habits...but the minute they gain the weight back (type 2 is a metabolic syndrome not an autoimmune disease like type 1) or eat carbs or how they used to, the high blood sugars will return. Also, for type 1's even coffee (NO CARBS), proteins fats can and DO raise blood sugars. A type 1 would know this?
@AJ-ku9jz
@AJ-ku9jz Жыл бұрын
@@christopherone1 lol I never said type 1 can go without insulin. I didn't say type 2 can be cured I said it can be reversed. The need for taking medication can and has been reversed in many people with diet. Not informing type 2's of this is a huge injustice. I was diagnosed with Type 1 in 2003.. There are documented cases (many) of type 2's no longer needing medication.

I became aware of having Type 2 diabetes on 12/29/23: A1C = 7.1. One month later, I received an A1C of 6.0. The 30 days between reflected: 16/8 intermittent fasting, low carb/low sugar, primarily plant-based diet, 500 mgs of Metformin, 500 mgs of berberine, and daily exercise. Also, I lost 10 lbs. On 01/29/24, my doctor took me off of Metformin. I’m waiting to get my next A1C on 3/18/24.
